    ACA Rate Increases For 2022

I'm in GA. Pleasantly surprised that my Kaiser plan for next year is actually about 2% lower, in spite of us getting one year old. LOL.

Fully Paid Lending Program by Fidelity

These are annualized numbers. For example, if you loan out $10k of ARKG, you will get approximately 10000*2%/360 = $0.56 a day.

Fully Paid Lending Program by Fidelity

I signed up the FPL program with Etrade for my IRA a few months ago. All of my ARKG shares in the account are on loan shortly after I signed up. The net yield I get is around 2%. Another holding, IDNA, is currently partly on loan. The yield for IDNA is higher than ARKG. The net yield paid...

New ACA Subsidy In Relief Package?

Your income of $43,000 puts you at 3.37x the poverty line. Using the updated KFF calculator, you would not need to pay more than 6.93% of $43,000 = $2979.90 for the SLCSP. The SLCSP costs $927.57 x 12 = $11,130.84. So your new subsidy would be $11,130.84 - $2979.9 = $8150.94 a year or $679.25...

New ACA Subsidy In Relief Package?

Exactly right. I modeled the marginal bracket versus the Roth conversion amount for a family with $60k in dividends ($45k QDI) and $10k in interest income. The Federal marginal bracket starts at 8.5%. The first jump takes it to 18.5%, then 20.5% and then 35.5%.

    Starting MYGA Investment

Thanks. If only Fidelity would also sell MYGAs from insurers with AM Best ratings in the Good and Excellent category. I think they currently only sell from insurers with Superior ratings.

    Starting MYGA Investment

Just curious, does Fidelity list the MYGA as one of your holdings in your TIRA? Or was the money simply withdrawn and you don't see it when you logon to Fidelity?

    Municipal bonds today

I bought quite a few MYGAs, starting last summer. I used them to replace matured CDs due to the dismal CD rates.

    Question re: Toyota IncomeDriver Notes

Thanks. It's not really a deal killer for me if I was going to open the TID. But it just provides more flexibility if TID allows external pulls/pushes. It could also allow one to go around any limits that TID might place on transfers initiated on the TID website.

    Question re: Toyota IncomeDriver Notes

Thanks. I think I wasn't clear in my second question. Must all the transfers be initiated from the TID website? Or can they also be initiated from your bank, e.g. Ally bank.

    Question re: Toyota IncomeDriver Notes

Can anyone with the Toyota Income Driver (TID) account comment if check books are offered? Can you also pull or push money into the TID account externally? Thanks.

    Starting MYGA Investment

In case anyone is interested, Canvas Annuity, an affiliate (or subsidiary) of Puritan Life of America, is offering MYGAs with the following rates 3-yr 2.75% 5-yr 3.25% 7-yr 3.5% https://canvasannuity.com/#/home Puritan Life is rated B++ by AM Best. I guess they can offer these rates because...

Ridiculous CD rates - where now

I'm in the process of buying this MYGA and I suspect the rate won't last very long. Once in a while, there would be a MYGA offering that stands out but it will only last for a month or two. For example, I bought the Oceanview 3-yr MYGA at 3% in June. At that time, the rate stands out; the rate...

Ridiculous CD rates - where now

I have bought a few MYGAs in the past few months, the latest being Americo's 5-yr MYGA at 3.2%. Americo is rated A by AM Best. Another caveat about MYGAs is their punishing early withdrawal penalties. Buy a MYGA only if you are certain you won't need the entire sum of money until its maturity.

Ally 6 transaction limit fees returning to Ally

Switch over to Marcus. They have eliminated the monthly 6-withdrawal limit "Due to a change in federal law, you are now free to make more than six withdrawals or transfers from your Online Savings Account in a monthly statement period. At this time, there is no limit to the number of...

    Financing a New Home Purchase

If you have investments at a brokerage firm, you can take a margin loan. This is what I used. I took a margin loan from Interactive Brokers to purchase my current home before selling the old house. IB has the lowest margin rates in the industry.

    3yr MYGA @ 3%, AM Best A- ?

That's a reasonable option. At the 5-yr term, I do see a 2.75% Jumbo MYGA from Mutual of Omaha (A+ AM Best).

Portfolio Fund Allocations for Newbie to Market

I agree with earlier comments that you can simplify the portfolio. It looks like your target equity/bond is about 55/45. Given that you already have a strip mall, I would not add the REIT fund. You must have read about the "ballast" effect of long term treasury (LTT) bonds on Bogleheads but I...

    3yr MYGA @ 3%, AM Best A- ?

Yes it is $250k for my state. This link has a summary for comparison https://www.annuityadvantage.com/resources/state-guaranty-associations/ But for confirmation, it's better to check with each state's site.

    3yr MYGA @ 3%, AM Best A- ?

Thanks. I would definitely stay below my state's limit, regardless of which insurer I go with.

    3yr MYGA @ 3%, AM Best A- ?

I'm doing some comparisons for 3yr MYGA at the $50k level Oceanview Life A- 3.00% Fidelity & Guaranty Life A- 2.25% Delaware Life A- 2.25% Oxford Life A- 2.10% North American A+ 1.95% The best 3yr CD available to me would be the jumbo CD from Hughes Federal Credit Union at 1.77%. (With NCUA...

    3yr MYGA @ 3%, AM Best A- ?

I use the Blueprint Income website which provides similar comparisons. https://www.blueprintincome.com/fixed-annuities I share your concerns about a new insurer with an AM Best A- rating. On the other hand, a 3yr MYGA is relatively short and maybe the higher yield with slightly higher risk is...
