I figured it out. The receiver menu has a category called "hardware" with a sub menu called "audio OSB". I turned that to off and now the remote controls the receiver only.

The problem is that the receiver remote changes the volume on both the receiver and TV at the same time. I want the TV to remain at 0 or muted when the receiver volume is changed.

Cash under the table, food taken home expensed to the restaurant, meals eaten at the restaurant that don't get recorded, etc. There are a lot of ways for restaurant owners to game the system if they choose.

We mostly stopped going to restaurants a few years ago when we had decided that prices were getting out of line. We only go now if it's a social gathering and almost never on our own. Credit card fees are an annoyance but it's lower on the list than a few other things.

I guess some people automatically assume credit card charges are baked in and never change, even if those charges may have been erased long ago by several other cost increases that weren't reflected on the bill.. Unless people look at their books over several years they have absolutely no idea.

If they were baked into the price then the people who paid with cash or debit have been getting ripped off for years.

It's gone beyond bias, as I stated, they now openly lie. So you can ignore the internet because some sites are wrong but that only leaves you with the regular media.

For better because the internet exposed how truly corrupt most of the media really is. I say corrupt because they openly lie.

Although what they report might lie somewhere between, if you're only watching them you're missing all the stuff they won't touch.

The question "Anyone else not watch the news" had me automatically assuming that they meant traditional mainstream media news. That I don't watch. But we do get news from a few internet and Twitter accounts that have a proven track record for accuracy. And yes I know that bias is everywhere but...

I'm more jaded than most and think it's gone way beyond trying to get clicks and viewers and giving people what they want. I see a very deliberate attempt to mislead.
