    Seeking Fund Recommendation

Part of my ER strategy calls for a portion of my nest egg to grow 4% annually. I am looking for a fund that comes as close as possible to meeting the following goals: 1. 4% return (after fees) with little volatility in order to reduce sequencing risk. 2. Tax Avoidance. It would be nice if...

Is 95% Success Rate Good Enough?

That is the number I am using as my acceptable risk threshold. Curious what others think. Thanks.

    Appropriate Dress for Interview

Athena said it right...one notch above their norm is the way to go. Don't want to show up in suit and tie if the norm is shorts and flip flops (which is the case at some tech companies). Ties and sport coats are very rare at tech companies. Has been that way for well over a decade now.

    Financial Benefits of no AGI?

Appreciate the concern, but I already have it 100% verified that the approach I am using will result in 0 AGI. I'm not going to post those details here bc the point of the thread is not to verify I will truly have AGI of 0, but to solicit ideas on what financial opportunities exist for those...

    Financial Benefits of no AGI?

True, so assuming I am below that threshold (which I would be since I am at 0), know of any benefits that I would become eligible for (tax or otherwise)? If so, what are they? Thanks.

    Financial Benefits of no AGI?

Total MAGI for return will be 0, so we should be eligible. Good info on the prev year window. Thanks.

    Financial Benefits of no AGI?

ACA subsidies come to mind but I am not expecting to be getting my HC from the ACA during ER--at least not the first couple years.

    Financial Benefits of no AGI?

In order to facilitate an ER, I may choose to take a loss on the sale of a Rental property that will allow me to write down my ordinary income to 0. I will have the option to write this down and file an amended return in the previous years (2) or recognize loss in the year of the sale and...

    Professional Assistance Reccomendation

I only started the work. Plus who would buy it from me? I'm not a CPA, CFP or EA. The fact that I got a discount on her services for it is more than I ever expected. Keep in mind that she is like the 10th CFP to see it and the only one who took any interest in it.

Hired her. $1950 for first phase of work. Includes s-sheet analysis and overall assessment of strategy. Work commences week of 8/17. She gets rights to s-sheet. Ongoing updates/advisory services to be priced separately after initial work is complete. Will decide if I buy those services...

    Military retiree (Am I good?)

I find that building a budget from ground up is very difficult and will likely result in you missing something. I'd suggest going top down, instead of bottom up. You say you are not carrying credit card debt, so you are able to live off your current income. I suggest starting with your current...

    Professional Assistance Reccomendation

Received an email with suggested dates/times of our meeting this week. In the email she asked that I give some thought to the possibility of giving her rights to the s-sheet for her to use for other clients (once she scrutinizes it). Hoping this will defray some of the costs of her work.

She already has a few hours into it before we meet next week. Expecting her fee to be about $7.5K now. We'll see

    Professional Assistance Reccomendation

I heard back from her today. She said she follows my approach and believes that conceptually it seems sound. She wants to meet for an hour next week to ask me some questions before giving me a quote on what it will cost for her to dig in to all the details..... Stay tuned.

I have multiple professionals involved. All of which are certified and have commercial software available to them to run simulations, etc.. Still waiting on a quote for the services of the one who is also an XLS guru. Her services would compliment the other pros. She would not replace them...
