    Exciting news from a coworker

Hi all, I at the beginning of the year, I had a new person from work ride along with me for some training. I had one of my financial books in the front seat, so she would have to move it to sit down. She asked me about it and I shared with her about FI. A couple of months later she told me that...

Should I close my business and sell off properties

Sorry Monterrey that this is happening to you. However, saying kids don't want to work is BS. They just don't want to work in that profession and that is a big difference.

Health Check (30 & Looking for Guidance)

What is your debt breakdown? First you need a budget and stick to it. Look up zero based budget. I would invest on 401k up to match then throw everything else at the non-mortgage debt.

28yro, no wife, no kids, looking for FIRE help!

You should have an emergency fund first. 3-6 months of expenses should do it. Then after that, I would open a retirement or brokerage account, depending on how early you want to retire.

    35 and going backwards

Is your "but" bigger than your "why"? What is your goal? My goal is to retire at 55 or younger and sail around the world. I think of this every time I want to purchase something. Also you need to get on a budget. Tell your money where to go and stick to it. You will feel like you got a...

    New to FI

I would pay off all of your non-mortgage debt like a madman. If your so inclined, I would take your savings and drop on the cars and pay them off. That would free up almost $900-1000 a month to pay off other debts. Debt free is the way to be.

    Intro

It was a combination of that and consumer spending. Most of it medical, both the DW and I were out of work at the time. The hospital was a Children's Miracle Network hospital so we never received a bill from that, but there was other stuff... local doctors, living expenses etc.

    It took two years!

It took two long years of tight budgeting! It took two years of saying no to things I wanted to do! It took two years of spending weeks away from my family so I could make more money! It took sacrifice & hours of overtime. Starting at making 80k to last year making 142k. We paid off $84,000 in...

It is called governmental social engineering. They have the child tax credit, so people will have an incentive to have children and increase the population.

New to Board- How am I doing

I wish I was in your shoes. However, with 2.5 mil invested in a cattle ranch making 50k a year that ROI is not great and you could make a lot more in almost any other investment. What is that 2% return? I understand if it has been in the family for a while.
