Here is what their tech support says: "It looks like the provided feed is using Cloudflare protection that cannot be parsed here. Please note that similar protection doesn't make sense for RSS feeds since the polling servers are not browsers. It could be geo-restriction, rate limits, or...

Yeah, I may have to. The reader error message is: The URL returned HTTP code 403 Not sure what side is causing it, but I'll check with Inoreader.

Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Trip Recommendations

Thanks for the suggestions! We do have a lot packed in, but I'm still working so we're making the most of the time we have. We decided to split our lodging so we're closer to the parks. We'll stay in Virgin, UT for our 2-3 days at Zion, and in Hatch or Panguitch for Bryce. It will still be a...

Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Trip Recommendations

It is a 7 day trip. Well, Saturday-to-Saturday. Day 1 we should be able to arrive at the Grand Canyon by dinner. The following Saturday we'll start driving back to the airport after brunch. So six full days. _______________

Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Trip Recommendations

Hello, I've read past posts on these parks, but hoping to get recommendations specific to our trip. In early June, my DW and teen daughters are going to fly into Vegas for a week and rent a car and drive to: 1. Grand Canyon, south rim (~1-2 days) 2. Antelope Canyon (1 day, guide is already...

    Insurance - Total Loss negotiation

Thanks all for your thoughts and advice. I was able to get the insurance company to come up in the valuation of the car to a point where it wasn't worth fighting anymore. I do think it helped being persistent but respectful. The market inventory of the used car I was looking for was pretty...

    Insurance - Total Loss negotiation

Thanks for the great responses! To answer some of the questions: -My insurance company is taking a look at the proposal to see if they feel there is low-balling going on -value of the car is $14K based on my research. So $1K would be ~7% of the value. Personally, I shouldn’t have to pay a...

    Insurance - Total Loss negotiation

Looking for wisdom and experience. Car was rear-ended, thankfully no one was badly injured. But the car was deemed a total loss. After some back-and-forth, the insurance company of the person that hit us, has given their final valuation, which is based on actual cash value vs replacement. To...

    Anyone play Disc Golf?

Two hobbies that consume most of my time converging on this thread! Scheming for early retirement and disc golf. I've played for many years - nice mix of competition, exercise, and outdoors.

    Investments Structure for retiring pre-55

Whoops, I left healthcare out of that $55k as it's taken out pre-tax. So tack on another ~$10-15k for that in retirement. Also, you're right, I am assuming little to no Soc Security, and will be happily surprised if I get SS benefit when the time comes. _____________________

    Investments Structure for retiring pre-55

Thanks for the feedback so far, I appreciate the thoughtful responses. Key nuggets: - "Get all of the 401k match" - "If I retire before 55, build up [60 - retirement age] years of funds in taxable accounts (and start now)" - "Fund some in ESPP but be wary of over-allocating here" - 72t is...

    Investments Structure for retiring pre-55

I’m aware that there is a good chance I’ll be working to 55 and possibly 56, 57, 58 – but hey, it’s good to have options in case I do better than expected. A little more info: - My target number is $3M, planned 3% WR. Our family of 4 is currently living on ~$55K/yr post tax, so $90K/yr...

    Investments Structure for retiring pre-55

I won't be at the number I want at 50... I think for me 53 would be the earliest I could go. But at that point, it would be easier to wait until 55 to get the early 401k exception. I'd just prefer not to work that long :) ______________

    Investments Structure for retiring pre-55

New member here (hello!). I’ve been wondering how people who retired before 55 have their investments/income structured. I’ve been maxing out my 401K (some % company match up to 6%), Roth IRAs, and putting 5% into my company’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. At age 43 (spouse is 45), my plan is...
