Poll: Do you have a pension?

Nothing for me. Have several friends with pensions. Needless to say they don’t know what SORR means or the concept of SWR.

Refinancing: How much home equity should I put into the stock market?

OP, why not do a no cost refi and lower your current rate? Unless you are already 100% equity, then adjust your existing portfolio to take on more risk.

    Share your FIRE Milestones - 2013- 2020

The recent market melt up has pushed my retirement accounts north of $2.5M for the first time. Using my planned 3% SWR, I feel FI although Mr. Market feels frothy. In 11 months at age 55, I’ll qualify for heavily subsidized employer sponsored health insurance-my only form of golden handcuffs...

    FIDO's Zero Cost Index Funds

I have a small rollover IRA and Roth with Fido and have bought a bit of all three funds starting last month. My plan is to slowly sell my remaining existing positions to buy the zero funds. I’m not ashamed to pick up loose change when I see it.

EGO Electric Lawn Mower, Blower and Trimmer

Fourth season using the mower-20 inch deck, not self propelled. Quiet and zero maintenance. Battery is holding its own so far. I have about 3.5K sq/ft of lawn and can get through on a single charge. Not as powerful as gas but gets the job done. I’m pleased with it.

Not yet retired. At one point it was was $1M, now I have $2M and think $3M is the answer. Not sure if it’s just inflation or hedonic adaptation.

    Greetings from CO

My plan calls for delaying SS until 70. Of the 2M, 389k is in 457 funds to tap penalty free whenever I quit and shouldn’t need to do 72t on other sources (401a, 403b, and rollover tIRA). My GF is 7 years younger and will continue in her j*b, we enjoy the current house and downsizing is not...
