Actually, it's a fact that 100% of retirees become seriously ill and/or die. Knowing this was the primary driving force behind my own ER. In my circle of close friends, classmates, fishing buddies and former business associates, I can't think of anyone who has died. A lot are still working...

I leave my lab at a kennel for 2 months when I go south. I feel guilty, but the condo has a limit of one dog, 20 lbs, so.............. The kennel is on a farm near my home and I know the owner is very fond of "Maggie". Still, I would take her along if I could. JG

First instance of "Galting" since my return. (Hope it's good for you too) :) Patience paid off. A local bank gave me a free DVD player for opening a new ($100 min.) checking account. I also got them to throw in a box of free checks which should last a year or so. JG
