Gift Idea For Relative With Cancer

"A healthy man has a thousand dreams. A sick man has only one." Gifts aren't worth much to a cancer patient.

    Liposuction?

When a human body experiences a calorie deficit, it will eat itself. Your body will consume calories by eating its own body fat. The solution is to stop eating.

    Safe Driving Class

I wouldn't spend 10 hours to save $75. Time is far more valuable than money. Then again, if the course saves you from a fatal car crash, it's priceless.

    Electric Vehicles - Models Discussion

The EV sales slowdown will continue. The consumer is not going to pay more for a vehicle with less range, higher insurance costs, few charging stations, long charging times, cold-weather range reduction, and poor resale value. Also, my ICE vehicle "charges" 30+ miles in 8 seconds! I can drive...

    Sleep pattern and sleeping pills

Drugs are bad. Drugs for sleep are extremely bad. And you're not actually sleeping; you're basically comatose. This will end badly.

Anyone use hypnosis as a treatment?

I used to think that hypnosis was a bunch of voodoo nonsense. So I went to see a hypnotist. After my session, I think hypnosis is a bunch of voodoo nonsense. I also tried acupuncture, and thought is was legit. Just my personal thoughts on the matter.

    My Recent Calcium CT Scan

I did a CT Heart scan 5 years ago, yielded a calcium score of 0. I take no prescription drugs, but would definitely start a statin if my score was >0. Also, shocked at all the people still getting stents since they were proven useless many years ago with the exception of emergency use during a...

    Solo Vacations

Solo travel is fabulous. I go to Vegas alone a couple times each year. But your circumstances are a bit different; and if I found myself in the same situation, I'd suspect my marriage is on shaky ground.

    Covid deaths still happening

Never vaxxed, never masked, never covid. I have not taken any covid precautions ever. I live life the same before covid was a thing. Some say it's selfish to live as I do. Perhaps that's correct. But it's also selfish for old folks to demand that I stop living life to protect them. Stay well...

Is Taking Up A Collection For A Friend Ever Inappropriate?

Reading this makes me wonder if we play in the same golf group. In my world, it's far too common for someone to take up a collection of cash when someone else meets some type of misfortune. I hate it and refuse to participate. Once, there was a collection for a guy whose son died tragically...

    Dumpster Diving/ Stocks

I bought $10,000 Pfizer a week or so ago. The dividend yield around 6.2%. Seems like a solid, safe, conservative hold for the next 10-15 years.

Financial Advice Columnist falls for $50K scam

Anyone that'll prepare a shoebox stuffed with cash for the CIA/FBI is orders of magnitude more stupid than the typical clueless idiot walking the earth. Seems impossible to be that dumb, but proven wrong.

    Kindle fans?

My WiFi still works as I'm able to surf the Kindle store, and access Goodreads, but no dice downloading books beyond 98%. I'm excited for the new Paperwhite to arrive. I'm positive the download problem will disappear with the new device. I suppose 9 years is long enough wait for an upgrade.

    Kindle fans?

Hey braumeister- same thing happened to me. On Saturday night, Feb 10, I purchased a book for my Kindle Voyage (2015). The book downloaded to 98%, then stopped. I returned the book and purchased another- same thing happened again. 24 hours of troubleshooting and no luck. I did attempt to...
