Bots = web crawlers like google and bing. We always had those, but I will look into disabling the display and believe it was disabled on the old software.

The forum should do that automatically. It 'remembers' where you left off reading. First, however - you'll need to "Mark all forums read" link at the top of the page. When you open a thread you will be taken to the newest post that you have not yet read.

Look over to the right near the bottom of the page:

We could add some post limits e.g 10 characters minimum limit ;)

The old view had a dollar sign in the same position - we just freshened up the icon. Old view:

The Yellow forum icon changes color. It dims when all posts are read and lights up when there is new content. This is all assuming you have begun by marking all forums read (link at the top of the page). You only have to do this once. The forum remembers what you have already seen and will...

The link is at the top of the page on the member stats page: https://www.early-retirement.org/members/ You can also see individual posts count below each avatar next to posts. This info was also available on the old board - I just don't think anyone actually looked at it ;)

So - long explanation: On the old software, page length (number of posts) was individually configurable. Some had it set at 10 - others at 100 posts per page. This set up some problems: 1. 100 posts per page calls a lot of data and slows down the server 2. Because folks often linked to...

Depending on your blocker, cookies may also being blocked and this is a slippery slope as we use some cookies to help you navigate around the site and keep you logged in at page changes. If the site is working for you with your current settings, I would not worry about the tally.

There is no option to hide the right column.

If you disable your ad blocker you'll see that the space is occupied ;)

The page numbers are at the bottom of the last post on the screen and over to the left. They aren't at the bottom of the page.

@Ronstar There are drop-down menus on the reply editor. The embedded media option is under the drop-down

This has been adjusted. Canada is now a "thing" and it's optional. There is also a new "state" in the list ;)

The page view is more open (more scrolling). In part this is avatars, but mostly it's the underlying software design. Line spacing in posts is more open as well.
