2016 Spending

I spent 73% of budgeted amount. Bumped the remainder to this year's budgeted amount. Just did my rebalancing today, and the unspent 27% enabled me to sell fewer portfolio securities to get my 2017 nut.

I spent in 2016 within $500 of what I spent in 2015. I'm so pleased and surprised.

I spent 13% less than I did last year, mostly due to a cheaper vacation:

i don't really have a budget. I just limit my expenditures to less than my monthly income.

I did buy a new Ford Transit van for $31,000--paid off in 60 days. I bought a new motorcycle $10,000 cash. Bought a new Corvette, $75,000. Financed $20k because the interest is less than what I am earning. Also put $10,000 in my savings account.

We don't have a formal budget. But I know that we spent a few thousand more than income. This was an improvement over spending in 2015.
