2024 Tax Software

Just got my price adjustment refund of $11.69 from Costco for the TT Deluxe + State I bought back in Dec. I see why Costco has a lot of satisfied members :) .

LOL... I have been meaning to write this...

I find it funny that so many are trying to get the last $10 or so off their tax program but have zero problem dropping $4K or more on a first class ticket...

How do you get a price adjustment from Costco ?

I bought it in December 1st online from Costco, so maybe because it's more than 30 days it doesn't qualify ?
Perhaps it’s 30 days, not sure.

I just searched on Costco Price Adjustment which took me to a customer service page which had a link to the form and filled out the form. They initially ask you for which month you purchased and Dec 24 and Jan 25 were the only options. If logged in you’ll be able to select your order number and then you enter info about the current deal. Maybe here is where they enforce the date. Don’t know.

I just heard on the radio that there may be a strike at the Costco warehouses.

Just fyi on Costco price adjustments in general:
Costco price adjustments for in warehouse purchases can be made up to 30 days after purchase. The good news is that, even if you buy an item that was already marked down, if they mark it down again you can get the additional price adjustment. The bad news is to get a price adjustment on a marked down item they are getting rid of, that item has to still be in stock. Once a marked down item completely sells out in a local warehouse, they will not have the marked down price in their system.

Yes, I believe 30 days. An example is the a Brother printer I bought from Costco in October. I saw in November, the price dropped about $60. So I got a price adjustment refund. The process was easy as like you said, can select the order number after logging in. Now I see the price on the printer went down again. Now it is $70 less than what I originally paid for. But the item is no longer for me to choose from it's been past 30 days.

That is brought up every year!

The annual endeavor to suss the lowest price on income tax software isn't really a cost saving venture, it is simply a forum tradition. It's similar to the annual contest to guess the S&P 500 at year end.

Costco has a good price adjustment site.
I didn't think I'd qualify as over 30 days since I bought it.
But thought I'd see what it does.
It has the 2 month choice as stated previously, it determined I was not eligible.
Seems like their filter might look at all purchases to see if any eligible ?

Thankfully, when I bought it (Nov. 29), the price was $10 off. So I only missed the low price by $1. I can live with that. (y) :D

I don’t think so. Haven’t tried it, but I don’t think the desktop version and the online version are linked in any way. I just have my daughter come to the house and use mine on my computer.
My son wanted to use his Intuit account with the online version with my desktop license and that's definitely NOT possible.

We didn't try my Intuit account with the online version and my desktop license, because that doesn't meet his needs.

I was able to download and install the desktop version on my son's computer and activate the license (my license). I think that functionality has always worked.

Newegg has a good deal on H&R Block Deluxe + State software download. It nets out to $19.99 after the free $20 gift card. Here's a link to the deal with a Home Depot gift card, but there are many different gift cards choices. Newegg - H&R Block Deluxe + State

Here is a link to the list of all the gift card combos available for this: Newegg H&R Block deal

If you pay $40 for something, and you are saying the H&R Block nets $20 because of the gift card, you can't say that the gift card is "free". You're paying $20 for the gift card, also.

Has anybody who received the Fidelity offer at $5 in past years received it in the past week?

I think the "selection" process might be over.

It's a false equivalency; airline fares and tax programs can't really be compared in any meaningful way. That said, I bet I'm not alone in resenting the very fact of having to pay money to compile a return for taxes we didn't like paying in the first place! Whereas, business class travel can be fun.

Bunch of folks will buy it on sale this week and watch them offer it next week.

The $10 credit that comes with the Costco promotion can be applied to the e-filing of the state return?
