About 20% of my portfolio is international (VXUS). I had seriously been considering slowly getting rid of it. It has been a dog for a long time. This year it finally showed up. I guess that is why I kept it. A diversified portfolio means you always have winners and losers.Sure got rid of all my Global/International stock in January. That is my punishment for doing something. It was the first time in 40 plus years I moved stocks around etc..
So True. If I try to out guess anything in life, my life experience is I nevah come out on the better side.About 20% of my portfolio is international (VXUS). From memory, I reduced Int'l from 20% to 10%. It wasn't an all-at-once decision, though. I was consolidating accounts and just didn't have the conviction to put the money back into int'l. That 10% went towards growth (SCHG) which was a new asset class for me.Sure got rid of all my Global/International stock in January. That is my punishment for doing something. It was the first time in 40 plus years I moved stocks around etc..
6/1/25...NW YTD is +7.16% including income. CEG made a nice comeback for us. Decent interest income from CD's and Treasuries.4/1/25...NW YTD is +5.6%. Subtract income, closer to +1.5%. Good income qtr, for sure.
A couple of single stocks helped with the returns. T&EXC...
Ha....years ago I had I think like 20% international then it whittled down to like 10% a few years ago. I got so sick of looking at it and it dragging the portfolio down ( ESP emerging markets) that last year I liquidated it all. Bad move, but whatever.Sure got rid of all my Global/International stock in January. That is my punishment for doing something. It was the first time in 40 plus years I moved stocks around etc..
Yeah, I always come back to the Callan Periodic Table which shows how what's "hot" one year may be cold the next. So my takeaway is to stay diversified."Diversification works whether you want it to or not". [Don't remember the source.]

That is awesome!!! Good for You!!My PMs are up almost 20% for the year. Can't believe it. They more than make up for my RMD (already taken). Heh, heh, not counting on PMs recent run up to last, but right now they're a nice balance to some other things not doing so well.
Heh, heh, not expecting that to hold, but I'll enjoy it while I "have it."That is awesome!!! Good for You!!
