2025 Investment Performance Thread

Somebody let us know when it's time to buy, please.

I hope I'm wrong, but you may have been too early.
As I repeat to myself: It's not a binary decision. One can buy a bit now, buy a bit later, and later, and later. Same for selling. This is especially true now with essentially $0 fee trading. (One does need to be aware of bid/ask spreads.)

I sometimes buy just to have a tracker in my account (yes, I know I could do watch lists, but somehow having it as a real holding helps me to pay attention to it.)

7 of my stocks increased in value on 3/10/25 and are near 1 year highs:
BMY
CVX
ED
EXC
JNJ
KVUE
VZ

We are down 1.6% YTD.

It's actually worse than that because we had been up about 6% before the trouble got going. So we lost that 6% gain plus another 1.6% off of the 12/31/24 number.

I like your idea of a tracker, and I am aware one can buy all the way down. My reply was more tongue in cheek.

I normally don't look until month end, but you guys 'made me look' :) It looks like I'm down 0.2%, so pretty much flat since the first of the year. Small and medium US were the hardest hit. Not rebalancing...the amounts would be too small.

I’m curious what your allocation is. Very low in equities I’m guessing. We are (or were) 60/40 and we’re off 1.6%.

Up 2.1% YTD. Significant allocation to international stock(VXUS) is finally working in my favor.

2/3 equities, but much of it is spread out beyond large cap US.

Maybe we should make a "2025 investment performance thread by day". :)

It would have to drop quite a bit more for me to be buying as S&P500 is only down <9% from peak. Have it come down >20% from peak and things get way more interesting.

Co-posted with Chuckanut ^^. Great minds…. Ha ha
