Somebody let us know when it's time to buy, please.
It's always time to buy, just some times are better than others.Somebody let us know when it's time to buy, please.
I hope I'm wrong, but you may have been too early.Decided I'd buy yesterday.
That's Ok, I play the long game anyway.I hope I'm wrong, but you may have been too early.
As I repeat to myself: It's not a binary decision. One can buy a bit now, buy a bit later, and later, and later. Same for selling. This is especially true now with essentially $0 fee trading. (One does need to be aware of bid/ask spreads.)I hope I'm wrong, but you may have been too early.
I like your idea of a tracker, and I am aware one can buy all the way down. My reply was more tongue in cheek. As I repeat to myself: It's not a binary decision. I sometimes buy just to have a tracker in my account (yes, I know I could do watch lists, but somehow having it as a real holding helps me to pay attention to it.)
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. That’s one thing we have an abundance of right now.Waiting for more chaos
I was looking at the S&P500 heat map yesterday, and saw similar. S&P 500 Map7 of my stocks increased in value on 3/10/25 and are near 1 year highs:
BMY
CVX
ED
EXC
JNJ

Yes, Embrace the Chaos.-1.7% YTD this morning. Waiting for more chaos before I rebalance.
I’m curious what your allocation is. Very low in equities I’m guessing. We are (or were) 60/40 and we’re off 1.6%.I normally don't look until month end, but you guys 'made me look'It looks like I'm down 0.2%, so pretty much flat since the first of the year. Small and medium US were the hardest hit. Not rebalancing...the amounts would be too small.
2/3 equities, but much of it is spread out beyond large cap US.I’m curious what your allocation is. Very low in equities I’m guessing. We are (or were) 60/40 and we’re off 1.6%.
Maybe we should make a "2025 investment performance thread by day".I normally don't look until month end, but you guys 'made me look'It looks like I'm down 0.2%, so pretty much flat since the first of the year. I think we'll all know by the blood in the street.Wake me when the market is down 20%. Make certain I am up and alert when it is down 30%.
