2026 Investment Performance Thread

Tough start to the year for DGF and myself.

Jan +0.10 (Both of us)

Jan +1.6 (Me)
Jan -0.67 (DGF)

DGF has a solid chunk of Microsoft she picked up in the early 90's and her cost basis is about $11 per share. She took a good hit on earnings release as she has over 1,000 shares with all the splits. I picked up a few shares when they dropped so bad last week and made a buck or two but nowhere near offsetting her holdings.

Looking at my dollar number with a 1.50% YTD. It still is good/enough for two years of expenses for us. That is without any really large unexpected expenses.
So, not all bad I'm always glad to see any positive percentage for YTD percent number.

+2.8% January in retirement account
Up 22% since april of 2025.

-1.02 % in taxable account for January after Fridays crash but up 4k in cash (not sure how fidelity calculates this but I assume its from Options)

As of today up 2.37% with 37% domestic equities / 25.6% foreign equities / 15% Alternatives

My play account in E Trade is up 14.15%. It's only 8% of my investable. My Fidelity making up 80% of investable is up 1.11%. I'm happy.

2.3% for January for 40% US Equity, 12% international and 48% fixed income.

Good start to 2026. But one month does not make a year.

Top contributors were SMH, FANG, and META along with a CVNA short.

+2.4%, all in on 2/3 equities. It's an early win in 2026. I'm not at all confident it will hold.

-1% on my big account... my big holding of old mega took a hit..

+2.9% of my smaller account... (about 1/3rd)..

January 2026: +1.64% of Net Worth, 0.75% of investments, 1.21% excluding RE, 2.13% RE
YTD: +1.64% of Net Worth, 0.75% of investments, 1.21% excluding RE, 2.13% RE
Since retirement (May 2024): +16.60% of Net Worth, 23.63% of investments, 33.05% excluding RE, 2.05% RE

I track my real estate through Zillow and Redfin. This month, my fourplex (investment) was down slightly per the websites and my house (not an investment) was up alot. I still think my house in undervalued by ~$50k and the fourplex is overvalued by about $100k per the websites. RE is almost 1/2 of my net worth so changes in RE really changes my net worth.

1.57%

Not bad considering that DW's company Exelon / Constellation stock was down 13.65%
Yeah, got a chunk of EXC, but sold a large % of our CEG @ $360 & $390. Looking to maybe getting back into CEG soon.

Otherwise we are up ~1.2% on NW, ytd

Well, yesterday (2/5) was no fun but I'm still up 1.09% ytd and 34 days ahead of my usual 6% annual plan.

As I lean toward income producers, I track my portfolio against the S&P in order to see if I'm missing out on something but as of now, I'm still ahead of the S&P by 1.17%.....not that I expect that to continue long-term.

It’s not 2/28 yet. This thread normally gets quiet during the month.
Yep!!!! End of month thread typically through the last dozen years I have been here.

Definitely wierd few days. We are very tech heavy and still down with our tech positions, but now we are $1K off from our ATH with our total portfolio at market close. We still hold about 5% position with QLENX and a smaller position with EGRAX. We will see where we end up with at the end of the day.
