3D Printing

I almost clicked on a buy Bambu Lab printer button 🤔 last night.

I'm giving my Prusa printer until midnight to shape up or ship out. I'm going have to disassemble part of the case to get at removing the stuck cleaning filament in tube and also try to properly change the nozzle but disassembling another connected part.

I should know by midnight (or sooner) 1) how darn frustrating the effort was 2) wasn't that bad

I have non-buyer's remorse.

The good (if you can call it that) is I think the fix of my Prusa may be pretty straight forward with a part change. The bad, I didn't fork over money for a new Bambu 3d printer. I'll have to stay lusting over the Bambu P2S for now.

I followed instructions to take off the top panel and then take off the hotend (which contains the nozzle). I ended up ordering a new hotend (I could have used that money to put towards a Bambu! ) Changing that should fix things.

I had tried the so-called easy way of changing the nozzle without having to open the top panel and stuff but must have broke the something along the way. The nozzle no doesn't even come close to screwing in like it should.

I won't get to try to fix the 3d printer for about a week as will take about 5 days for the part to arrive. Meanwhile, I can keep lusting over the Bambu printer.

My 3D printer is back in business .

Costed me about $80 to get a replacement hotend.

I learned from this experience how to break  and replace the hotend of my 3d printer.

The neatest thing is I bought a nozzle torque wrench to get the nozzle set to the right torque. Who knew there is was such a thing!

My Prusa printer is back in my good graces now. Yet, if someone asked me for a 3d printer recommendation, I'd say, get a Bambu Lab P2S.

Since I've replaced the nozzle on my 3d printer, I've printed several stuff. Last night I printed a water bottle holder for my bike. My bike didn't come with holes for regular bottle cages so I need a working set up that works without the holes.

Right now I'm printing out a mount for my Roku streamer. Well, because I can ;).
