My wife and I were out of town for a couple days and were watching a lot of 80's music videos at the cabin we rented. There were several things I found amusing watching those old videos again.

Big Hair - Both men and women had lots of hair back in the 80's. I remember photos of my wife and I from back then and we both had lots of hair also. :)

Skinny - The vast majority of people in all of the videos were very skinny. Our population has gotten a lot plumper since the 80's.

No Tattoos - I don't recall seeing a single tattoo on anyone after watching 80's videos for two days. These days it seems everyone has them.

Young Artists - The vast majority of artists were in their early 20's or so. These days it seems most artists tend to be in their 30's.

Female Objectification - Just about every video from the 80's had one or more ladies wearing very little clothing and posing/moving in seductive ways. I enjoyed it, but that sort of thing doesn't seem to be politically correct anymore. I miss those days... :)

Smoking - I saw quite a few videos with people smoking in them. I'm sure that still occurs today, but it's not as common as it used to be.

Fun - 80's music just seemed more "fun" somehow. A bit corny at times, but light-hearted and enjoying life. Everything is so serious these days.

Oh to be young and skinny with a full head of hair again... :)

All very "80's." I miss some of that music. I consider the '80s the last gasp of "good" RnR and Pop.

Of course, I know that's all personal taste so your mileage may vary.

Yeah, from time to time I get on youtube and find one of the 1980's video compilations, especially from the early 80's when I was in college. Memories.... I remember a lot of the symbolism (symbolizing nothing, mostly) in the videos during those days...

I agree about everything but the "fun" part. I was into gloom/doom/goth/dirge type bands in the '80s and they mostly affected a look of practiced misery.
