You have two eyes, two ears, and one mouth: look and listen twice as much as you talk.
You sure that wasn't Larry David?Words to live by from Dudley Moore in the movie "Best Defense":
"Never pass up the opportunity to take a piss."
I actually hate that line, it is so defeatist, and negative. Look at what the electronics industry has provided - faster, cheaper, and higher quality. Don't set the bar so low, try to achieve all three, and do it faster, cheaper, better than your competition. In general:
Fast, Low cost, High quality - pick any two.
And from those who don't abide by that rule: "Geeez, I've cut this board 3 times, and it's *still* too short!".Measure twice, cut once.
I would argue that in the area of audio electtonics the (sound) quality has gone down.I actually hate that line, it is so defeatist, and negative. I was at Home Depot over the weekend, and this contractor comes in with a T-shirt with the company name (or maybe just a gag shirt) "Close Enough Construction". On his back is the motto: "Measure once, cut twice!"Measure twice, cut once.
I think if you compare with the cost in mind (especially inflation adjusted), the quality has improved dramatically (subjectively and objectively).I would argue that in the area of audio electtonics the (sound) quality has gone down.
Never eat yellow snow!
"Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow"
Eh, that's my modus operandi.I was at Home Depot over the weekend, and this contractor comes in with a T-shirt with the company name (or maybe just a gag shirt) "Close Enough Construction". On his back is the motto: "Measure once, cut twice!"
I literally laughed out loud. With humor like that, the guy must love his job.
