$100 and didn't fill the truck, pump cut off...

Still not as bad as 2022 - yet. I had that happen several times that year - pump shutting off at $100 while trying to fill my truck.

Yeah, I was down to a little over half a tank last week, so I filled it up... $93.xx. But, I can get 750+ miles out of a tank. Of course, I then drove it to ride some bike trails with friends for a day, and now it's below half a tank again. Oh well.

Just drove from CO to CA.
Gas was in the $4’s in CO
$5’s in UT and NV
$6’s in CA.
I think the most I paid was $6.79

Since the run up we have been keeping things topped up. This time I got down to under 1/4 tank. I knew it was gonna hit hard

Yep!! Exactly!!!!

$5.79 /gal at our local market today. Down at the interstate it’s higher.

Don’t have a truck to fill. Dear wife burned ours up … literally … in our driveway a few years ago.

If there was only a way to reduce gas consumption and take the pressure off gas prices.

Hint: RTO
Walk? Horse and buggy?

Or, should everyone do their part to conserve as many resources as possible so celebrities can take a 15 minute flight in a jet so they don't have to wait in traffic for 45 minutes? Save all the fuel for those who are better than us.

I'll just keep paying whatever price. I hope we aren't anywhere close to the peak of fuel prices.

Uber!! Never go to the gas station again!

Just drove the RV from AZ to MT. Diesel was the most expensive in AZ at $5.69 and the cheapest was in MT at $4.88. UT and ID were in the $5.09-$5.29 range.

I guess in some places the gas price already exceeds the 2022 average of $5 a gallon.

I remember years back, one of my cousins went away for a week and left his teenage son the keys for his Hummer and a credit card. I don't recall what the price of gas was at the time, but I do recall him screeching about $1,400 on his credit card for gas. I can't imagine how the kid accomplished that.

I've averaging over $100 per fillup in my truck these days. I don't even try to keep track anymore but I think I've seen ~$140 on the pump recently.

My employer recently announced "RTO" for several of us who were hired as fully remote employees. I took the liberty to BBQ them and their plan. While it's their prerogative to reclassify employee positions and demand people drive to an office every day at considerable time/expense to the employee for what will amount to less productivity, I'm also free to call it absurd.

When I told my boss that's great, I won't be returning to an office, there was a meltdown and an escalation of what to do with people like me who are planning to quit. We can't lose you! ...uh, you already did. You did think of that before this stupid plan was announced, yes?

I'm not spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars per month, driving vehicle into the ground, and wasting 3+ hours of my day commuting just for those so-called, sacred, "water cooler conversations". FTS

Well above, actually.

The difference is this time card pre-auths at pumps have been significantly increased. The Kroger by my house now auths up to $275 per transaction at the pump.

Reading this thread I guess I shouldn't complain about this fill up cost in our EV. Took longer in a restaurant than usual and our Bolt EUV charged to full. We usually only add enough miles to get home and it runs around $11.00. We charge from home 97% of the time so.
Not nearly the 750 mile range you get with those truck fill ups though. Let's hope those gas prices go down soon. It is really hitting most people in their wallets.

We don’t drive very many miles, so gas prices themselves don’t cause much of an issue for us. But I fully understand that there is a domino effect and that higher prices for everything are just around the corner.

Try filling it up every morning. Wouldn't hurt so bad.

Remember the '70s when some gas pumps could not be set to more than 99.9 cents per gallon? Looks like another digit will have to be added once again. It's a reminder of inflation's long term effect on savings.

Just put 20 gallons in at Sam's in Greenville this AM for $73 (Regular - $3.66)

Gas is 4.30 somethiing in our area but diesel is 5.59 . Keep in mind all the products we buy are shipped via diesel trucks for several to hundreds of miles. When I worked around guys hauling logs back in the 70s-80s those loaded trucks got about 5mpg.

My electricity is still very inexpensive. I won't burn gas until its snowing.
