Part of my daily routine is to check You Tube podcasts for information that might be important. This can take a lot of time and in a lot of cases ends up chasing a dead end. I try to speed this up for suspected junk videos by playing at 1.5x or 2x.
Yesterday it finally dawned on me that I can make this process much more efficient using Grok AI. I copy the URL for the video and make a prompt asking Grok to verify the accuracy or summarize the content.
Just now I saw a thumbnail for "that AI Asian Guy" titled "IRS quietly changes 5 things for retirees." Better check this out. Just in case, right? It was a 25 minute video.
The thumbnail was shown on the right side while I was watching the All-In Podcast. I clicked the three dots next to it, picked share and copied the URL and fed to Grok/ In less than a minute I confirmed that I already knew about the five items and did not need to watch the video.
In another case, Grok confirmed that the panic stricken claims in the video were sort of true, but blown out of proportion.
I asked Grok how it does this and it said that if it can find a transcript or one can be auto generated it uses that. Otherwise it reviews posts and comments about the video.
