Anyone else having login.gov issues with ssa.gov?

Was that for EFTPS? I have heard they always require a pin (nothing to do with login.gov) but IDK for sure if that is so or not since I've never done it.
EFTPS has a password and a permanent PIN that are needed once you get through Login to their site.

EFTPS uses login credentials to link to a bank account. If you have more than one account linked, you’ll have two different sets of login credentials. A bit odd but It’s worked that way for a very long time.

So even though you login via login.gov, you still have to give the login credentials select the bank account you wish to use.

There was an announcement that SS was strengthening their verification procedures. Why your account was triggered, I have no idea.

I got Login.gov to work but could not get EFTPS to let me in. Was planning to deposit $$ for balance on 24 tax return. After multiple efforts to log-in with my EFTPS doc in hand I called Customer Service. After finding my way through a very convoluted routing process I actually got a human to answer without a long wait. I learned that if I had not logged into my account in 13 months all credentials are purged.
I subsequently learned I could include ACH info with my return and IRS will pull funds on 4/15.

Oh wow! 13 months, eh?

Direct pay is more my speed. I have too many logins now. . .but 13 months does seem a bit short.

I wanted to go to the Post Office, but in order to do it you need a bar code they will send you. But the steps you need to do include the phone number (which they don't recognize in my case) so it stops with no way forward to get the bar code. Dead end.

It does work on the eftps site, but not the ssa.

I got an email from SSA 3:04 AM about a new and improved statement "streamlined and easier to read", so I logged in through login.gov around 9 AM. No issues logging in. If the statement has improved I didn't notice the changes.

Could be a server issue. I have used login.gov in several government sites including SS without an issue. Try again.

I found that I had to turn off my VPN to be able to log in as normal
Makes me wonder if browser extensions like ad blockers or something might be a difference between having no problem and having to re-verify all information.

I tried to login to the email/password and was direct to Login or the alternative and setup a Login account. The oops was I needed a 2nd phone for 2nd authentication method and uses DW's without thinking that she was camping outside SF Bay. Luckily our youngest was here, so I could use his phone as a 2nd authentication, then the account went through. I'll try login on Login tomorrow, just to make sure it works.

A few months ago I set up a login.gov account after much effort and physical mail and made sure it was working. I tried to sign on to ssa.gov yesterday and now apparently my login.gov is messed up and I need to go in person to have them verify my ID. This is frustrating as I already went through all this. Has anyone else had any problems like this?
I had an issue and cleared the history on my computer. Everything worked fine after that. Hope this works for you also.

Yes

I was able to login 2 days later, but now I probably should check again, just in case.
My 3rd SS payment went through last Tuesday, however, for the good news.

So far, logging in at SS has been good. Call me a little paranoid, but I have been logging in once a month to make sure the login continues to function properly.

If you're paranoid, then I am too. Since January I've been logging in once or twice a month to make sure they haven't declared me dead, or some other nonsense.

The idea that folks whose guiding principle is "move fast and break things" are now fiddling about with the social security databases hardly inspires confidence, and doesn't lead to peaceful nights of sleep.

We had problems 2 months ago.
Called & remarkably they helped each of us log in. Took maybe 10 min each. They even stayed on the line to make sure we did get logged in with the steps they told us.
Now, with all the cutting going on, who knows.
But worth a try.
