When do you normally get your 1099s from Fidelity?
I'm asking because mine from Schwab isn't expected till late February whereas I got my Vanguard 1099s about 2 weeks ago. So I'm thinking of moving my IRA and brokerage accounts from Schwab. I like Vanguard, but prefer to have my money split between brokerages.
Thanks.

All the 1099s from Fidelity which I am responsible for, were available online before the end of January.
Late February would be too late for when I wish to do taxes.

Mine supposedly will be ready online tomorrow.

The delay isn't arbitrary; it's caused by a delay in reporting by the entities that manage the funds you're invested in. If you move to another broker with the same holdings, the same thing will happen.

On the Fidelity site, there's a little question mark icon next to the delayed form. Click on it, and it will tell you the holding(s) responsible for the delay.

My holdings are simple - IRA is all index funds, brokerage is CDs, MM and like 3 stocks (minimal value)

Ally Bank and Merrill Lynch were also available online before the end of January.

It doesn't matter what you think is "simple," though. I own USFR, a cash equivalent floating rate note ETF, and that's one of my holdups. Anything can cause it. Again, Fidelity lets you see the culprit(s) so go check.

Fidelity’s says some funds that own foreign equities have delayed the 1099 until February 7. Some years the 1099 is delayed until February 21.

Mine have been shown for a few weeks as becoming available on Feb 7.

Fidelity also.
For me 5 are ready (before end of January), 2 accounts are held up, they are waiting on IVV and CIM.

They even show an estimated date when it will be available.

Fidelity tells you online what date to expect each form. We have all of ours except one brokerage account they say will be available 2/7.

Fidelity and Etrade are both waiting for reporting from several issuers to issue consolidated 1099. Fido saying available (estimate) 2/21 while Etade saying 3/6.

Nope and don't expect them until mid month. I'm in no hurry to file as I've been burned before by filing early only to get a revised 1099B later on and then having to do an amended return. PIA.

This. I downloaded mine from Fido on 1/25, but when I was holding a bond that paid a royalty on mining or something like that it always took a while into February because of the reporting on that one holding. (I inherited it, and the rate was too good to pass up before it matured.)

Same here. Waiting at least until Arizona decides its state tax forms. Governor and Legislature still in disagreement here.

A couple of years ago, I didn't get my Fidelity 1099 till early March. FIDO blamed my muni bond ETF SUB for the delay. So I subsequently exited that holding. Theoretically, my 2025 1099 will be available tomorrow, but I have some new positions in muni bond CEF's this year and I'm not sure how timely reporting for these entities will be.🫰

I got my 1099R's from FIDO. I got messages that the 1099 DIV's were delayed to some funds in our portfolios.

Mine became available on line Friday, January 30th even though they said they wouldn't appear until Jan 31. I got it in the mail a few days ago.

My SBF (Snake-Bit Friend) won't have his available (I am an authorized user and do his taxes) until tomorrow, Feb 7, although it may appear later today. The Feb 7 date is a big improvement from prior years because in 2024 he dumped some non-Fido mutual funds which had several types of income such as non-dividend distributions, qualified dividends, ordinary dividends, and cap gain distributions. His only non-Fido holdings by Fido are in his Roth IRA, so nothing in that account appears in typical 1099B and 1099DIV forms.

My Fidelity brokerage form availability improved considerably after I got rid of my non-Fidelity foreign funds.

Feb. 21 for me. I have all the 1099-Rs (IRAs, retirement income) but none from the major pre-tax accounts. I can estimate, of course, but there are so many moving parts I want to use the download so it matches exactly what gets reported to the IRS. And just yesterday Fidelity sent me an e-mail on "Why you should file your taxes as early as possible". :)

Still, I would not move money to another brokerage firm just for this reason.
