I tried one at a friend’s house and didn’t want to get up.
Do any of you have one? Do you still use it? Any cautions of owning one?
This is the one he had. It was awesome!

The "e lounge" (or Elements E-Lounge) massage chair is a premium hybrid massage lounger that blends seamlessly into living room decor without the bulk of traditional models. It retails for around \(\$2,300\) to \(\$2,900\) depending on the vendor and features 3D massage technology, multiple airbags, and built-in heating.

Any recommendations for vendors for best prices? Other models?
Thanks.

It is a Kyota E330. I think it costs about $ 2K and we had white glove installation.
It has a number of preset functions plus foot massage, back heat.
The functions are called; Relax, renew, upper body, lower body, stretch, all air, sooth, and night.

Souschef, sounds similar to the one I tried with those various functions. The foot massage part was great and I would definitely get one with that capability. How often do you use yours?

LOL... does having one in the car count?? BTW, I do not use it as it is not as good as the chairs in your living room...

I have thought about getting one since I was in my mid 20s and sat in them off and on at the mall... never did buy one.. the ones I sat in all looked HUGE and weird... and cost a lot.. (well, at my then buying power)..

We have an Infinity massage chair made by Infinite Therapeutics. Got it at a Costco road show years and years ago. It has a huge foot print and resides in our (huge) master bedroom. We love it and don't use it often enough. It's a zero-gravity chair that can be programmed up the gazoo. All sorts of massage types. Don't remember how much we paid for it, somewhere in the $4K range.

Thanks Texas for reminding me about the massage feature in my new car. It's the best massage feature of all the cars I've test driven. IIRC you have the option of programming a couple of different massage types as well as intensity.

Every day

Yes, LOL. I recall starting a thread like this when I was looking and I was abused for considering it. That did not dissuade me. I thought DW would object to this huge appliance looking chair anywhere except a man-cave which I do not have. I started sweet talking her and her response was immediate. "it'll fit in the sunroom". I thought I'd need to finish the basement before she'd agree.

The look on visitor's faces when they're in the chair is priceless. At least two family members have bought similar units. Ours is an Osaki purchased from BJ's Wholesale Club about 5 yrs ago. These run about $3k to $4k. Ours was $3 k discounted to $2k. I'm not sure what the $5-$10k models have to offer. I have even seen some models for <$1k that looked ok. The only feature I miss is a memory so individuals can save their favorite settings We use it abt 6-7 x per week for a household of 4. If you are over 6ft do some extra research to find one that fits especially if you are sharing with shorter users.

EDIT: I misremembered my old thread. There were only two responses both saying to look on craigslist! Probably not something I'd buy on craigslist.

Jazz, thanks for your comments and experience with these chairs. Yes, I do worry that after the initial novelty it might become less used. That’s one of the reasons I’m considering the models around $2,000 and not the $8-12k models. I’m willing to “compromise “ on a few features to save that much $$. I can get the Elements e-lounge, the chair I couldn’t get out of at my friends house for under $2k delivered. The dimensions fit in our master bedroom at our shore home and my DW seems willing to go along! Happy Father’s Day to me! 😄👏

Seriously considering one of these. I have used them in Japan at onsen (hot springs) and in the airline lounges at the airports. I have also used them in Korea and Taiwan. They seem very popular in Asia and not so popular in the US.

Appreciate any comments regarding the cost discrepancies (seems like $2K-$10K to be the norm) and what you are getting for higher cost. Don't really have a budget but also don't want to waste money on unneeded features.

Would definitely not buy one without trying first. I see them occasionally at Costco roadshows but never tried one.

The ones I've experienced in Asia are quite rough and painful (a good thing, IMO) at times for my back but there is NEVER lingering pain or soreness.

I'm much in the same sentiment state as Luvtoride (OP). Thank you to all for responding.

Any real negatives? The only negative I can see is the amount of space it takes up.

One more question, is it useful as a pseudo-recliner when not in use, meaning can you just sit in a static state and enjoy TV or listening to music?

I just ordered this massage chair, after trying it again in a furniture store. It’s being delivered this Thursday. I got a great price from the furniture store owner who is a good customer of my friend whose home I tried the chair at. I’ll update some of Route246 questions after I try it out and learn how to use it. LOL 😂. Lots of great features in this model for the price point!

Yes, mine works well as a recliner. There are two preset "zero gravity" positions but also a manual recline that lets you position it at any angle you choose.

We not only own two massage chairs, but I also sleep in one! They are both high-end Daiwa & have worked trouble-free for many years. Our first one was (believe it or not) a donation from a friend who discovered that it wouldn't fit in his apartment. He tried it a few times, & asked me if I would take it off his hands, for a case of beer. I already had an Osaki chair that required maintenance too often, so gladly accepted. Not sure if I can ever go back to sleeping in a bed that doesn't take the kinks out at the end of the day!

So how do you like it? Now that you’ve got my attention on something I’ve never really thought about! I need to know if it’s worth the $$

Tetto, I love it! It’s at our beach home and I use it at least once a day everyday we’re down here. It is fully adjustable for pressure, air strength, roller width and areas to concentrate on. It even has voice commands that work very well to make adjustments. The blue tooth speakers in the head rest connect easily to my phone for streaming music, podcasts, etc.
I got a great deal on it from a furniture store in NJ, that a friend of mine who is a furniture rep deals with. I would highly recommend this e-lounge model for anyone wanting to experience a massage chair.

I've lusted after them at Costco when the road show comes to town. I'm getting a small inheritance soon so maybe I'll pull the trigger next time they show up.

I wanted to buy one, but my boss, who had a tax business said everyone he knew who bought one had died. I used to get weekly massages due to back pain. Then I got married and we started doing yoga and strengthening exercises. I no longer have back pain, and when I do have a massage, it’s not as good as it was when I had more aches and pains!

Size is a major consideration. Space between the chair back and the wall, when fully reclined, is another consideration. I bought one from Walmart but returned it within a month. Too big and cumbersome to use. No music Bluetooth.

It is a novelty for a while, and then it can become a towel rack, like my NordicTrack!

I purchased an Infinity at Costco for $4500 16 years ago. I use it 3-4 days a week and have no issues with it. I've looked at buying another one with newer technology, but it is hard to spin another 8-10k when the one I have works fine. Costco has Infinity and Human Touch road shows rotate throughout the country. I like to know if I have a purchase this big, that I can return it a few years later if it starts having issues. They do come with a 3 year in home repair warranty which is also nice. I don't think you would regret purchasing one.

Six inches from the wall to fully reclined. Only time will tell if it becomes used as a clothing rack. Lol 😂
Six inches is a lot. "Zero clearance" or near zero was a must have for us because the chair is so darn big. Several I considered in the $3-4k range were zero or near zero clearance. When BJs had a $3k chair for 1/3 off I jumped on it. It was a name brand also but it came with no documentation even on the web.

We have the space.
