Are you all in on the SKI movement?

We don't subscribe. This looks like more internet noise where somebody is trying to find a trend so an article can be written.

Our basic expenses are dealt with. Beyond that, we have plenty of stock for any lumpy expenses that life might throw at us, voluntarily or involuntarily. In all likelihood, our sole heir stands to inherit a considerable sum - which is just fine with us.

Cheers

We live well and enjoy ourselves and are working to spend more on ourselves now. But there is no way we are going to spend it all. Much of our holdings are in real estate which funds our lifestyle. But if like ourprimary residence or vacation home doesn’t generate income it will transfer to the kids when we are gone.

I have no kids of my own and only one niece. At this time, it seems to me like she’s not putting much effort into building her own weslth, counting too much on potential inheritances to fund her future. It doesn’t sit right with me, so I am out on the SKI slopes enjoying the fruits of my own labor without guilt.

Two big splurges of mine are to fly first class and take a yearly ski trip to Aspen Snowmass, staying slope side. My son goes with on the ski trip so at least he gets some of the benefits of that splurge. We even talked about that once and he thought it was great. His opinion counts but he doesn't get a vote! He remembers the old days when we stayed in cheap places and took shuttle buses. Those were fun times too but it's extra nice to have more convenience and comfort.
