1957 Chev Bel Air 4 door sedan. It has the gold colored V (for V8) on the hood and the gold color indicates power pack cylinder heads (I'm pretty sure0. Nice car!
Actually, in 1957 the gold V on the hood and trunk signifies it is a Belair model. The 150 and 210 models had a silver V on hood and trunk. It has nothing to do with engine type. BTW in 1957 power pack heads were on all 283 engines with the 4 barrel carb, dual quad and fuel injected engines. Power pack heads were not available for the 180 hp 283 engines.

My very first car. 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. Rebuilt 383 c.i. with high performance cam, headers, intake, carb. 4 speed manual. This photo taken in 1977 or 1978. I knew a person in the licensing department and had her pull a license plate with 383 on it.

would this be considered a muscle car of that time period?

Absolutely!
Right up there with the hemi cuda. My step father had a Road Runner. Very cool car of that time period.

Thanks, it's been a long time since my '65 Vette and all the other Chevrolet's. My 81 year old mind is getting a bit cloudy on some of this stuff.

This is what really matters to me. Don't care "as much" what is wrapped around it. :) Had one in each of my last 5 vehicles. Earlier last year it looked as if they were done making them but that has changed now for several reasons and they are coming back.

For a while I did a little flipping of cars that I spotted in the newspaper classifieds (remember them!). One day I found a '68 GT-500 KR ("king of the road") Convert that needed a timing chain. Bought it for a couple thousand IIRC. Had it parked in front of work one day and got a note asking if it was for sale. Sure. Sold it IIRC for maybe $5000.

Turned out to be a kid. Met him and his dad at a bank so daddy could cosign the loan, got my money, and took the dad aside: "Do you know that your kid just bought a 140mph car that will neither stop nor go around corners?" "Oh."

It was a really awful car from a handling and braking POV. By that time I had owned a Lotus Elan and a Shelby 289 AC Cobra so my standards were high. I still have the special spark plug wrench that was needed on the right side next to the wheel well.

next up...what did i take a pic of here?
front grill is interesting along with the high mirrors and how the front windshield just pops out like that.
the 'gills' on the side of the hoods were they ornamental or were they for air flow or something?

I have had about 6 of these over my life span. This was the latest restore, 1973 B Roadster.
