Autos Thread

Seriously considering a used Jaguar F type convertible - but I really want the V8. A bit crazy but I'm selling a boat ( eventually) and may be able to swing for a 2016-2017 model. I keep watching the you tube videos and the exhaust note puts a HUGE smile on my face!

I was gonna post some of the other interesting older cars I've owned. Then I realized I backed all those images on CD-ROMS, and my new computer doesn't have a CD-ROM drive. Oops.

I'll have to snag one off Amazon.

Meanwhile, here's a picture of my first car. (Not a picture of mine, but that color and year without the nice wheels)

1966 Pontiac Lemans (or 1967)?

67 Pontiac LeMans. My dad surprised me with it when I was 17. The car was equipped with the four cylinder engine and the automatic transmission. I never liked it much. Then a year after I sold it, a guy parked it in front of where I worked. He had put in a V8 and a manual four speed.

Those were nice with the V8's and GTO packages.

My best friend had a 1967 GTO when we were in the Air Force together. I had a 1963 Chevy Impala Convertible. So much fun back then!

DH had a 1968 GTO when we first met. Fun car.

DW's brother (now my BIL) had a '66 Goat. One day at his w*rk, he parked up against a concrete post in the parking lot so that no one could back into him. (Anyone see what's coming)? BIL forgot the post when he came. He gunned the Goat as he pulled forward. Severe damage ensued.

BIL owned several interesting cars over the years, including a '63 Vette Split Window with the Fuel Injection. Of course, he always sold them before they became valuable. He has owned a couple of hundred cars in his life-time. Always paid retail and sold wholesale. Now in his early 80s, he struggles to rub two nickels together - but still trades cars often.

It is a 1956 MGA, nut and bolt restoration. I had a 1960 MGA coupe also. Currently working on a '69 MGB resto-mod. as you can see, I like to mix things up a bit
Yep. That's pretty mixed, all right - in a good way. Nice ride (heh. heh and, clearly, a chick magnet as well). Way to go!

The Utility Coupes are from Australia, and are RHD. It's a model never made here in US. The Chevys are made by Holden, and the Ford is made by Ford of AU. I imported the two Chevys. The Ford I bought already imported to US.

Here's a picture of my 1952 Chevy 2 door sedan with the 1951 grill in it. It's the only photo I have and my sister's hat top is in plain view in front of it. I was a 16 year old boy when that photo was taken. I bought this for $35 out of a junk yard in not running condition and fixed it up.

Ok, I didn't know that none were made here.

Me and my friends would pile in one of these to go to diving practice before classes in high school.
Can you guess what it is.

Without cheating, I'd guess a Fiat or a Trabant. But it can't be a Trabant.
