BCBS lawsuit settlement postcard.

I checked a couple weeks ago and mine said still in review. Haven’t seen an email, but thanks for the heads up.

No kidding, so often the aggrieved party gets $5.00 and the attorney fees are in the millions.
I read somewhere that doctors could get in on it as well as they weren’t fairly reimbursed. Don’t know the validity of that, but figure we will get our $5 gift cards.

Just went on their website this morning and mine still says under review?

I checked my 2 claims and they were both under review. I'm stunned.

Just curious, does anyone know approximately how much the settlement ends up being at the individual level?

Got an email this morning showing what my payout amount would be based on. It showed my premium payments for the years I was on bcbs. I have 30 days to dispute the amounts. Also asked if I would like online e debit card for payment. So it looks like this suit may finally be getting settled soon.
Did it say how much or a percent? I've been waiting on this for years and don't have an email :-(.

It didn't say how much I would get. Maybe after the 30 day dispute period it will.

I just received my email notice today. I went into my Junk folder. Don't know whether I should check the box for an electronic debit card.

Why not? I've done that for other settlements and it's easy. I think the last one I was able to choose an Amazon gift card I think. There were a few options available but it's been a while so II don't remember.

I also got the email that says "If you want to be in the first round of payments...click the button below...to receive an electronic debit card". I decided to click the button even though their record of my payment amounts didn't match my 1095-A statements for some of the years.
Here's a summary from the FAQ:
Time frame for fully-insured individual and group purchasers - Feb 8, 2008-Oct 16, 2020
Time frame for self-funded plan - Sept 1, 2015-Oct 16, 2020

The gross settlement amount - $2.67 billion
Plaintiff attorney fees - $667 million
Settlement administration costs - $100 million

Of the $2.67 billion, $1.78 billion will be set aside for fully-insured individual and group purchasers and $120 million will be available for self-funded accounts.

The settlement amount will be a percentage of what their records show was paid unless I contest it and sends in proof which I didn't.

I assume I fall into the self-funded bucket ($120 million total payout) because their records only include payments I made from 2016-Oct 16, 2020 even though I've been on ACA BCBS plan since January 2014.
edit: My google search suggests ACA is not a self-funded insurance plan

A self-funded plans would most likely be from a large employer.

Mine is also in review. Why do you have more than one claim?
BCBS was my health insurer under a separate and very different policy for a few years before the ACA became effective in 2014. Then, from 2014-2015 I had BCBS under a Silver ACA plan. I filed a separate claim for each policy period.

I also got the email that says "If you want to be in the first round of payments...click the button below...to receive an electronic debit card".
I just got an email like this one for one of my claims. I went ahead and chose the electronic debit card option.

Received the same email stating the amounts I paid in, which were not that much during ACA, a couple years I paid nothing, so the amount I expect to get back is very small, might get a cup of coffee out of it. Wonder what the hourly rate works out to for the $667M lawyer fees?

I have no idea what amounts I said I paid in. I haven't received anything from them since the confirmation of claim many years ago.

I did not go for the electronic debit 'card'.... I have had cards before where you could not get it all...

I will wait for the big check in the mail...

I got my e-mail today and I'm getting about $450. You only have 30 days to decide whether to accept or dispute. I also was a customer for many years going back to about 2010 but they are only using the years 2015 2016 2017 2018 so I'll have to see if I can find my original claim paperwork.
UPDATE Actually I'm not sure if that's what I'm getting, That is the total ASO amount and the premiums are 0.

I've been checking the online website once or twice a year for what seems like decades. No email for me yet. I was hoping for the full $2.6 billion, but apparently some of you want to split it with me.

Where are you guys checking your claim status? I went to bcbssettlement.com and there was nothing there about checking your status. Nowhere to enter a claim number.

No email for me yet, either. :(
