BCBS lawsuit settlement postcard.

OK, thanks. I entered my claim number and my unique id, and both were deemed 'invalid unique id or claim number'.

Great. I got these numbers from people on the 800 number a few years ago. Guess I have to call back, ugh.

You should have received an email? I found the email from many years ago and copied and pasted the number and it worked, showing me that it was "In Review".

OK, thanks. I will look for an old email from the bcbssetllement people.

I got my e-mail today and I'm getting about $450. You only have 30 days to decide whether to accept or dispute. I also was a customer for many years going back to about 2010 but they are only using the years 2015 2016 2017 2018 so I'll have to see if I can find my original claim paperwork.
UPDATE Actually I'm not sure if that's what I'm getting, That is the total ASO amount and the premiums are 0.
Mine was in my spam folder. It came on Jan 17 but I only just looked at spam today. Glad I did.

When I entered my claim & pin I see a different chart than you -- no ASO column. Just 2 columns: Year | Premium Amount. It's accurate for what I paid. No idea what the proposed payout will be. I haven't decided if I'll wait for a check or do the Electronic Debit. Probably wait for a check.

Interesting. I remember that my employer was self insured but only for these years noted. I'm pretty sure that I filed my claim for all the years that we had BCBS going back about 10 years or so. Now I have to see if I can find a copy of my original claim that I filed.

Looked back in my email and found the initial email from settlement people Sept, 2021, which gave me my unique id number. It's the same number I thought it was. Still says 'invalid'.

Called the 888-681-1142 admin number, got 10 minutes of piano music, hung up.

Might try to email info@bcbssettlement.com eventually, but seems like a good way to get ignored, so will try the 888 number again some time.

By the way, I mailed the paper claim form in, did not do it online. They verified, by phone, that they received the paper form back in 2021, and even gave me a claim number, also 'invalid' now. :(

Strange, My claim only showed the premiums that I paid nothing showing the amount I would receive.

got an email today for mine its about $100
Congratulations. Is that your actual payout or some premium amount? Did you have to receive it as a debit card only or were you able to get mailed a check?

My claim status says "In Review" am I alone or has anyone checked status and got a different reply?
Yes, the reply I got was an error message stating my claim number and my unique ID were 'invalid'.

Mine also shows "In Review". I asked for the electronic debit card. Hoping to maybe get a new car with the money.

I just received the email this morning. My claim shows $0 premium paid, but several hundred dollars annually for the AFO. I’m not sure what, if anything, I will receive

MIne is also 'In Review'. There is no way I'm clicking on the email link in the email I received yesterday. I did go directly to the site and used my ID to see the review.

Hovering over either of the two links just shows a very, very long web address. It's likely valid, or this could be targeted phishing, it has all the traits -- including dangling money in front of you.

Email advice still stands; Never click on links sent in email. Go to the site directly and proceed.

Recieved mine and checked. Had zero premiums and some under ASO. Looked up what all that meant and premiums seem to be if you had insurance you bought directly or through some organization. ASO was administrative services and for get what the O was. It’s for self insured group plans and such where the employer provides the money and your premium goes into a pot that is used for claims. There were some others listed as ASO. The insurance company just gets paid a fee for administering it. This is all to the best of my research. I expect to get a $5 gift card or nothing. I read through some of the various legal documents and after a few pages it was just a bunch of word salad to me.

I emailed my questions to info@bcbssettlement.com and quickly got some sort of automated reply like thank you for your inquiry, your ticket # is #####, and a big FAQ list that, of course, did not answer my questions.

I then resent my original questions with the ticket # in the subject line. Nothing since then !

I guess the good news is that I will only be out $7.43 or something like that if I get nothing. I can't believe the huge premiums some folks have paid into bcbs. More in one year than many people's entire salary, lol. I think I paid full freight just for one year and it was 'only' $350 per month approx, which I suppose may not even register on the 'cash in' scale, lol.

I received their email that contained the Claim Number and PIN. I checked and it shows a breakdown for both categories for each year from 2015 to 2020, totaling about $2,072 for Premiums and about $335 for ASO.

This news story on CBSnews.com finally throws out a number:
"After deducting attorney's fees and administrative costs, the net settlement fund is worth approximately $1.9 billion, which will be distributed across roughly 6 million claimants. On average, claimants can expect checks of $333."
It's all speculation, obviously, but we paid a lot in premiums during that time, with 2 separate self-employed non-ACA policies. It was not cheap (mid five-figures, each). We'll see if DH & I even get the "average" amount.

I found the email in my spam folder, and it shows me the two years I was on an ACA BCBS plan, with premiums paid in the low thousands each year. I'm quite curious to see how much I'll get.

When I entered my claim number and PIN, from Jan 30th email, at this URL
it shows I have $0 Premium Amount, and (in total) $444.68 ASO Amount for 2015-2020. I have certainly paid monthly premiums through my employer/retiree health plan over those years. Should I dispute the figures they show?

What does ASO mean?

In the end it seems the lawyers will make the big bucks and the claimant people will get a small amount. I am also holding off signing up to get electronic debit card.

From my research ASO means administrative services and not sure about the O. It’s self funded health plans and some others. Your premium was paid into an account that the company had which was used to pay claims. You were not paying premiums to BCBS although it appears that way when you were using your company health plans. Your medical claims were actually paying out of this fund. BCBS was administering the plan and paying the claims from this fund. The premiums on the list are premiums paid directly to BCBS via private insurance, retirement organization plans and some other plans that pay directly to BCBS. That’s about as much as I can tell you about it from my research.

I've got big plans for my $7.34!

Yeah, I only have a few hundred listed as ASO, no premiums. Presumably my portion of the settlement payout will be based on that number, relative to all the other claimants' number. So, I'm not expecting much. At least we can rest easy that the attorneys made out well.

Thanks for the explanation, from the sounds of it I might end up with enough to go out to lunch
