For those that received an email for the BCBS settlement, what is ASO amount and any idea what we might expect based on the Premium amount they list?

From what I’ve found through searches premiums listed are where it was a direct premium by individuals, certain organizations such as retirement groups to BCBS. ASO is administrative service(never really found what the O is) are more for self funded such as companies that fund the plan and BCBS just administers and pays claims out of the funds the company sets up. There maybe other types in each of these categories, but those are the details I remember. Also, the % money allocated to each group is different it isn’t the total $/total claims. ASO had fewer dates covered and you can receive a settlement if you have money in either category. Also, any claims less than $5 will not be paid. I think the amount in the columns is not how much you are getting, but what your claim is based on. After that I don’t know much more.

probably around $14 to me in a virtual debit card and $34,000,000 to the attorneys...if it's like all the other class action settlements I "win".

I had Blue Cross for years. I looked back in my email history, but I don't see that I was alerted to make a claim (that would have been back in 2021, I suppose). Dang. $14 left on the table.

I posted this on an older thread before noticing this one. I looked up “ASO” and it apparently stands for “Administrative Services Only.”

My claim shows premiums for 11 years, totaling just under $52K and ASO = 0. I wonder what that will be worth?

So are the people who are getting money from the settlement those who had BCBS administer, but not insure them during the claim period? I paid premiums to Blue Cross for insurance (there was no corporation self-insuring in my case).

ETA: I'll answer my own question. The answer is "no", those who bought insurance from BCBS might be class members.

Got an email yesterday, no amount specified ...
The Blue Cross Blue Shield Subscribers Settlement will begin sending payments to valid claims in May 2026. You elected to receive your settlement payment via a Virtual Visa® Prepaid Card.

We both filed and DH got his payment today… Just under $43… Whoopty do. I haven’t received my email yet saying payment is coming… He received his note that payment was coming Saturday and received it today.

$43?? Oh man. I've been counting on a BIG payday from this.

Beats the $19 I got after (Too many to remember) years. I was able to add it to Amazon as a payment method.

You have 18 months to use it before they start charging a monthly fee.

Oh yeah......don't spend it all in once place now! 🤣

I got $154. Now the hard part will be remembering that I have a virtual visa card that I can use.

I got a meager $35. I do have a question on how to use it though.

I assume one enters it online at say Amazon then make a purchase. If the purchase is more than the card, then the payment will need to be backed up by another method ....... is that a correct assumption?

Just use it to fill your amazon gift card balance, then it will pull it first (if you select use GC balance) followed by your default payment method on next purchase

Great idea, I just did that and now I'm done with this virtual Visa card. Thanks!

Just received $292.84. Added to Amazon gift card and used most to purchase 4 golf cart tires.

$8.79 for me. Bought an Amazon gift card.
