I have a brokerage account with E*Trade but currently with no equity or fund holdings. All my mutual funds are with Vangaurd. I wonder if it is worthwhile to transfer the brokerage account to Vanguard as well so that I could do everything at one stop (place). Any opionion will be appreciated.

do you have an e*trade bank account?
If so, you could set up transfers from the broakerage to Vanguard and move the $ without any problems.

Dex,

I do not, but I could close the brokerage account and request either a check or wire to my bank for a small fee (about $24).

What would be your hoped-for benefits from this change?

About all I can offer is that vanguard charges more for trades than etrade does, and having all my investments under one roof for the first time this past tax year didnt really buy me anything. I figured things would go more smoothly at least in filling out the tax returns but they took about the same amount of time and my head hurt about the same amount when I was done.

Mikey,

My initial thought is that I can do everything under one roof for simplication. I guess it may not according to TH.

Thanks for everyone's input. I will stay with E*Trade for now.
