Bronco Sport Anyone Have One

... I have been considering a hybrid Maverick AWD with the 4k towing as a 2nd vehicle but would like to hear any negatives.
Just so you know, the AWD hybrid Maverick wasn't available until 2025, prior to 2025 AWD was only available in a gas engine.

Been gone today my wife had some surgery done and just got home from the hospital.

Well, good or bad I made a deal on the phone for a bronco sport big bend. My wife had an escape that the AWD had a problem and the cost was going to be about 1500$ for parts and labor. The car was 6 years old so I traded as is for the bronco.

They had some great rebates and I had a 2500$ coupon from form for a bronco sport. The MSRP on window sticker 34410$ total discount was 4750$ they gave 14000$ and I will write them a check for15660$.

I will give it a try 3 years full warranty will keep it then or get an extended warranty if I plan on keeping it.

A lot of good reviews and some bad ones too. It will be for our road vehicle and wife running around vehicle.

It won't replace the maverick just adding this one.

Ronstar you are right about your observation this one has the Brush Guard and pull rings/hooks plus receiver hitch. Enter level bronco with the Black Diamond Off-Road package.

Ford set the record in 2025 with vehicle recalls at 153. Totally bad year costing billions.
Yes, they do have a lot of recalls. I will take a chance and see what happen at least for three years anyway. I never owned a ford till 6 years ago. I was a chevy guy.

I have a recall on my full size Bronco. It’s been pending for months. They can’t make the parts, suspension related, fast enough.

Sounds interesting.
So is the Bronco Sport fundamentally a front-wheel drive with augmentation to drive the rear wheels also when needed?

That would be different from an F-150 which is RWD to start with. Mine also has a 4A ("auto") mode which is RWD most of the time but switches some torque to the front if the rear wheels are slipping, thus preventing fishtailing in slippery conditions.

Sounds like the higher end Broncos are similar...
Yes, many AWD systems out there (on automatics) favor the front wheels in normal conditions for efficiency. On the Bronco Sport you can see (instrument panel setting) how power is being distributed. When accelerating from a stop, the computer will use front and rear and then as it needs less acceleration, it then moves to mostly/all front wheel drive. One of the things the "slippery mode" does is to tell the computer to be more generous in terms of including power to both front and rear, but even there I have found that it will still favor the front when not accelerating. (Slippery mode also seems to change the shift points.) Pushing the 4WD button keeps the front and rear both equally powering the vehicle. Like most/all? "locked" 4WD systems, they should not be used on dry, hard-surfaced roads:

I also have to laugh a bit at the "Ford Eco-boost is terrible" posts. I have 90K on the Bronco Sport 2.0L Eco-Boost and have only done oil, filter, a new set of tires, air filter. Might have done the brakes once. I have 140K on my 3.5L Eco-boost F150 and IT HAS BEEN USED AS A TRUCK, not just a grocery hauler. Loads of wood, hauling trailers w/a tractor, etc. No issues with that engine so far. My nephew had a F150 3.5 Eco-boost that he used on his farm and worked the sh*t out of it - got another one after 225K miles or so. One thing I do is CHANGE THE OIL and use synthetic. I would buy either the 2.0L or 3.5L Eco-boosts without hesitation.

I have a maverick I use everyday rough country and use as a ranch pickup as well. It gets some physical workouts and so far been totally happy. I got 20K on it less then two years old. I have an average of 30.4 MPG over the time I had the truck. That is snow, mud, pulling in town and hwy. miles and through all seasons.
For me it get everything done that I need and is cheaper to run. It has the same engine as the bronco.
