We could not get our cruise booked for this year when DW wanted it so we booked one for April of 2025. Then last week while we were camping on the lake near us she came up with a new idea. Lets go to Niagra Falls and Hershey Pa.! So now I am tasked to find campgrounds along the way up as well as other stuff to see near either place. I have looked at both ways and decided to go from N Ga. up I75 & I71 thru Ohio up to I90 to Niagra Falls, then down to Hershey Pa. for her chocolate fix.before heading back home down I81 thru Va, Tn. to Ga. I have only been up in that area back in the 70's when I drove trucks to Utica NY and back all interstates and no siteseeing so I'm clueless about the areas. Any helpful ideas from any of y'all would be great.

GREAT TIMING.... Just got back from the same trip....
We left NC June 12th and got home last Monday. We stayed for several days at Letchworth SP, Grand Canyon of the east, then stayed at 4 Mile Creek SP. They have a free shuttle that you can take to the falls and other sites. While there we also took a trip thru the locks on the Erie Canal, but recommend you drive to that one even though the shuttle runs there. We passed by Hershey on 81, did that stop a few years back and stayed at Gifford Pinchot SP then.
If your into military history, this is a nice stop in Carlisle PA just off 81
What camping equipment you have? We stayed a few nights at Cracker Barrel.

We won’t be camping but plan on going to Niagara Falls via Carlisle in August. Good to know about the AHEC at the barracks.

+1 on Letchworth SP in NY. About 75 minutes southeast of Niagara. The Corning glass museum is also a great place to visit, and not too far out of the way.

We have a 33 ft Reflection 5th wheel. My DW will not stay anywhere without power, so boondocking is out for us. But thanks for the info on the state parks. We love camping in the COE parks and state parks. We will be going up thru TN,Ky,and Oh. but coming back down I81.

Well our trip begins next week. it has been fun looking at differant campground reviews and pictures and making reservations. The biggest problem with reservations is weekends, but I finally got it all set up. I learned on our Out west trip in 2022 that Our miles comfort level for pulling the camper was a lot less than it was for me in the 70's when I drove a truck for a living. Instead of 5 to 600 miles a day I am worn out with a 3 to 400 miler. this trip My longest mileage data is showing to be 365 miles on the last leg as we are coming home down I81 thru Va. and Tn. Most of the others are in the 250 to 300 miles. We are retired so if it takes longer to get there its ok. Thank you to Old medic for the links to those parks and the shuttle. We couldn't get into Letchworth on our dates but we will be staying at Four mile state park, to access the shuttle and then on our way down to Hershey I found a COE campground to stay in and make day trip to Letchworth. My DW is really looking forward to this trip, and has been studying up on the area too which is not normal for her. Usually she leaves all the "things to do" up to me because, "I'm just along for the ride"! Anyway thanks for the help and y'all have a great rest of summer.

Cool deal... Letchworth as a day trip.... There's tons to see. Mt Morris Dam and museum is a very interesting concept. I should have mentioned Darien Lake SP that's near by Letchworth.. Wifes cousin actually works there. Enjoy your trip. Dont do like we did.... left the Catskills.... and went all the way home... 775 miles....
