This is a very basic question, but I want to know how this works before I rock the boat.
In June 2022 I enrolled in a Humana Plan G and Aetna Part D using a Medicare specialist insurance agency Sun City TX recommended by friends, who had gotten the name from friends, who got the name from friends ...
The enrollment was fine ( OK, the guy was a bit of an condescending jerk), but there has been zero contact or service since from the office. In particular, in May 2024 I had an issue in which Humana kept saying that CMS had not forwarded claims for Plan G, CMS said they had indeed sent claims, and I got no help sorting this out.
QUESTION 1: should the agency office have helped sort this out, or is their role now to collect commission year-after-year, as passive income?
QUESTION 2: if I want to switch to a different insurance agency (still in TX, where I am domiciled) can I do that? I want to keep the same Humana and Aetna plans but I want an office that will step in when needed to untangle insurance issues.
QUESTION 3: if switching agencies is OK, do I simply contact the new insurance office and explain? And must I do this before open enrollment begins? (My Part D is on a calendar year cycle, but my Humana Plan G renews in June).
