We closed on our condo today. Exciting and nerve racking. Now we need to focus on getting our house on the market. Going to rent a truck this weekend and move as much of our clutter over to the new place as possible. Then, get the realtor in to see what else he might advise to do before we list it. Thanks everyone for all the help with the document review and the thoughts on condo life in general. This is going to be quite a change for us.

I wish you luck, Jerry. I'm delaying sharing walls with someone else for as long as possible. When the time comes I'm hoping it will be in a CCOC.

I bet it will be hard to make the move and all the things that go along with it.
I wish you well and that you adjust and adapt t your new life.

Congrats, have fun. I'll guess the Realtor will want you to get this cr** out of here. lol.

Yeah, we have a lot of “stuff”. That’s something DW needs to work on and has agreed to do so. The condo has more space than our current house primarily because it has a basement. I’ve pleaded my case to DW not to use it to store more stuff but rather to help get a handle on it all. She seems in agreement but time will tell. Fingers crossed. She did admit that in pulling it all out for the move, she was surprised how much she had accumulated in the 9 years we’ve been here.

Good luck with the move and best wishes for you and your family in the new home Jerry!

I felt exhilarating when I downsized a decade ago. Then we upsized again. Ooops!

The big move is an adventure. And it is not an adventure if everything goes to plan.
Which it won't. But roll with the punches and enjoy.

My general rules

If you haven't used it in the last year and
You don't anticipate using it in the next year and
It is not of great monetary value or
It is not of great sentimental value

Then out it goes... trash or donate.

If you need to rent storage then that's a clue that you have too much stuff.

Best luck with your move. Happy for you to get the Condo purchased. It will all be worth it!
