I got an email today saying my Comcast bill is past due. My billing is set up for autopay, so I'm thinking it's probably some scam email. But the email did look kind of real. So I log into my Comcast account and it does show I have a past due bill. So evidently, my account was on autopay to my credit card but for whatever reason, Comcast decided turn that off the past couple of months. So, I get this past due notice with a $10 fee. Even more, their website didn't work with me using Brave browser. Was timing out having pages not loading.

I went ahead and paid. Signed in by using Microsoft Edge browser (when in doubt of compatibility, use the MS monopoly browser). Edge browser worked fine.

Upon paying, I automatically got enrolled in auto pay and will get a $10 credit on the late fee.

No wonder people don't like Comcast.

Congratulations. You dodged a bullet there. You were able to resolve your issue without talking to a customer service rep, visit a Comcrap store, or get into a lengthy email exchange.

I would rather walk into an insurance agency and ask them to tell me about bundling auto and home policies and also umbrella policies, and by the way, I've got a couple of hours free, than to deal with Comcrap.

I used comcast years ago and their customer service is the worst. You get charged for things you weren/t supposed to be charged for, and to get it all straightened out is a nightmare. Us cellular is very similar, stay away.

It’s not easy to say something positive about Comcast.

I have same issue with Comcast/Xfinity site at times with Brave. Open in different browser like Safari and it works fine.

LOL... I am looking at getting rid of Comcast... my choices are limited...

I can go with AT&T fiber... but they really screwed my mom years ago and I have been negative against them for awhile...

There is a new company, Ezee, that has just put in fiber... but I have been reading some bad reviews.. and their fiber is along the road in front of the house and all my 'stuff' is out back behind the garage... not sure if I could get them to install back there... plus... will they do what they say?

T-Mobile says no way for their 5G plan... I guess they have too many on it where I live..

I might have to get over being mad at AT&T...

BTW, the cost for Comcast is $105 and AT&T or Ezee is about $70ish... which is why I want to change...

I have EZEE Fiber and love it. I pay $60/month for 1 GB up and down. Super people. If you call them, a real person answers the phone. When we lost internet during Beryl, they were Johnny on the Spot and got it back up in 1/2 day.

Thanks... I think I will try...

I think the plans here are a few bucks more, but they do say lifetime pricing...

BTW, I think they said they provide a router/modem... did they? If so, is it a good one with good coverage?

My mom had her Xfinity on autopay from her checking acct. I called them 3 days after she passed, and left the conversation feeling like I had successfully gotten the service shut off and was done with it, before they would try to bill her again the following week. But they tried anyway, and the next month they billed for a month plus insufficient funds charges. Seemed like the subsequent phone call successfully got that straightend out, and the guy even said they owed me money (I tried to tell him not to bother, just call it even). He even sent me a revised bill showing the credit and promising the refund check. 3 months later, got a bill for 2 past months and the upcoming month, plus some late/insufficient funds charges. They wouldn't talk to me about it on the phone (I admit I wasn't being pleasant), and sent me to the local storefront.

The lady at the Xfinity store understood the situation, but said she couldn't do anything about the penalty charges, then "how would you like to pay them today." LOL, your customer died and you were informed before any of these charges, and since then you sent me a bill showing a credit for more than you're trying to collect...you're not getting paid. 1st collection agency, when presented with the facts/timeline, kicked it back to Comcast. 2nd collection agency, did the same, and I copied the President, and somehow that worked because I received a prepaid card with refund after a little over a year.

I can spend 10 minutes (max) per month paying my internet bill, to refuse giving any of these companies permission to jerk me or my survivors around someday.

I switched from AT&T to Comcast. AT&T was the worst. My bill was different every month and no one could explain why. I had constant connectivity problems also. I've had Comcast for about a year now and both my wife and I work from home daily and we have not had any issues with Comcast (maybe I just jinxed myself :)).

Don’t leave out Starlink, now offering discounts for urban areas since they have the bandwidth in those cells

They brought the fiber line right into my house and provided the modem/router. My install was free. This is the best service I have had in 30 years (previous: Comcast, AT&T, Consolidated).

Edit: last bill was $66 with no contract (said $60, but I had forgotten the exact amount).
