I get together on Sundays from 11AM-4PM for a free jam with my friends. We record everything. It's always something different, but here's an improvised live track from a couple of weeks ago....

Phenomenal beat on the tunes you have here:

I'm always interested in what it is about a tune makes you start tapping your foot, etc, within one or two beats. Whatever it is, you've got it.

How do you make those? Instrumentation? All sampling? Great stuff!

Thanks Al! I wish I were as prolific as you. I've been doing this since I was a teenager, so I've had a lot of practice. I'm a keyboard player by training. it's not my career, just a major hobby.

It's obviously a mixed bag. Regarding rhythm, some songs use samples, others are live drums, some use drum machines. It's usually a combination of those things. The music on my site spans many years, so it covers a lot of different musical styles and recording technologies. Playing live is my favorite.

Most of it I do at home with my friends. Here's a picture of my studio...

I published my next book. This will probably be my last, because the editing and publishing stuff is getting to be too much like work. In any case, I'm going to take a break.

I'd forgotten about this thread, but here's an update.

Last September my daughter and I published "Raising Your Money-Savvy Family For Next Generation Financial Independence" through ChooseFI Media. It's my second book, her first, and our first through ChooseFI. We also recorded the audiobook (in our own voices) with our back&forth format of telling stories around the kitchen table.

The foreword was written (and spoken) by JL Collins of "The Simple Path To Wealth." We talked about that after I saw his daughter Jessica's presentation at FI Chautauqua 2019.

As always, I'd suggest seeking it at your local library. There are six copies in the Hawaii State Public Library System, and I'm sure more libraries across the Mainland have followed suit.

If you're planning to buy then it's at the usual places:
https://www.amazon.com/Raising-Money-Savvy-Generation-Financial-Independence-ebook/dp/B08C9G4LXC/
Barnes &Noble:

Wal-Mart seems pretty expensive:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Raising-...ndependence-Hardcover-9781735066127/816565775

In audiobook, it’s finally out on Audible as well as Google Play:
https://www.audible.com/pd/Raising-...ependence-Audiobook/B08PDT2MC2?qid=1610555905
https://play.google.com/store/audio...Your_Money_Savvy_Family_For?id=AQAAAEAc-Gy4YM

Sales have been gratifyingly brisk. The book earned out its editing & printing costs in only two months and it's been carrying its weight in the ChooseFI catalog. It'll be interesting to see how the audiobook sales compare to the other formats, because I think audio will outsell everything else combined.

Carol, her spouse, and I post occasional updates at childFIRE.com. Our granddaughter is collecting the whole set...

Congrats! Thanks for the update.

Hi Folks. I recently created and launched a new, free online retirment calculator at https://www.retirementodds.com It handles any number of cash flows with different rates of return and life spans. It also handles your home and any rental property you may have.

As I said, its free. It's also anonymous and secure. It doesn't mine your data, and there's no advertising. I'm simply giving it to the world because I couldn't find any other free online calculator that does everything I wanted it to do. I used to decide when I could retire, and I think it will help others do the same.

Enjoy.

LOl i went from 4% success just filling out the firs ttab to 96% from filling out all the tabs,

After retiring, a friend wrote 2 novels (see the first one above). I was amazed at his accomplishment. It's a fast-moving fun book.

I tried writing a book and it wasn't easy.
