A delightful experience for me, at the same time a possible pet peeve for DW. You make the call

.
In the last few weeks, between the recent cruise we went on, a wedding, and this past weekend Independence Day celebrations, we have had a lot of opportunities to dance. Everything from big band to latin to 70s-80s-90s music. On several occasions, we had one or more woman come alongside of us to dance. Sometimes a woman by herself, or a group of 2 or 3. a few this evolved into a little "dancing circle" among us for a song or two. All of these women complimented us on our dancing, how we look, and our stamina ("you folks just do not get off of the dance floor!").
DW, though, is convinced that they are not really complimenting us... she thinks they are complimenting me. And maybe "checking me out"

. She says, when she takes a break and is on line with some of them at the restroom or getting something to drink, they made comments like "he's a really good dancer","he's very athletic", "I wish I could get my spouse/partner to dance", etc.
Now, getting compliments like this is a delightful experience for me, especially in my advanced age

. But DW warns me with "I don't like this attention you're getting". But, she says it with a smile, and does not want us to stop dancing. So maybe she is not really peeved (though she also adds, with a smile, "you better watch it, mister!"

).
