My wife and I are applying for ACA coverage for2024. Our only income is Dividends and interest. No wages. I have to enter my income and then hers. Should I split our dividends, interest, etc. in half and enter 50% as my income and 50% as her income or does it even matter? We file taxes as joint.

split in half, but I believe you are correct- it won't matter.

It doesn’t matter at all. I’ve not bothered to split them. DH goes on Medicare 1/1/24 and since the premium tax credit is based on household income, I can’t manipulate anything to increase it other than controlling income through avoiding too much capital gains next year.

I split them but it really doesn't matter. You'll notice you also have to enter monthly - which isn't how dividends work.

But I estimate it all very roughly so I come to the basic EOY numbers, jointly, as the number I'm comfortable with, and that's all that really counts.

I believe others are correct that no split necessary
