Does anyone send (or receive) paper greeting cards?

We have stopped buying cards. We exclusively send personal cards that I create using AI. Each card is personalized and then we add a brief hand written note. Folks seem to love it.

DW brought 4 inches of cards with her this trip to the mainland. They're mostly cards for May through September birthdays. She plans to save the stamp on most of them by distributing them at the appropriate time to people in our church. Conversely, some will need to be mailed back to Hawaii.

The number of cards I send and receive over the years has plummeted. I do like to receive cards and this reminds me to step up my game. I either buy cards at Dollar Tree or paint cards. My last couple of sent cards were a watercolor picture of the recipient’s pet. These were both appreciated.

Our daughter makes her own cards. They are beautiful and every bit as nice as store-bought. Of course, they do take some time.

I send American Greetings e-cards. Just made one today. A smash up with DS name and Best Day of My Life song. Added personal note to card, set the email delivery date (up to a year out). Easy, cheap ($35/year, unlimited).

Done from comfort of my recliner and ability to add gift card. Been doing this since 2020 and feedback has been positive.

Somehow forgot egreetings were a thing but at $35 a year for ~ 2 cards it wouldn't be cost effective for me. It seems more fun to get that than an ugly cheap $ store card. I always take the plainest one since I hate the wording.

We send out birthday cards to family members and I send out Valentine's Day cards to my girlfriends. I also have a disabled friend and I try to hit every holiday for her because she loves getting a card. I get mine from Dollar Tree. I've run into the Hallmark detail lady a couple of times in the card section and she's a hoot!

I'm pretty surprised this cards thing is so popular but I guess I don't take into account most of you have/or had much bigger families.
I basically quit sending cards until I made my first trip to Dollar Tree and saw nice Hallmark cards for $1.00-1.25. They used to have 2-for-a-$1 cards once in awhile which made the card cheaper than the stamp!

We still buy and send out Christmas cards, along with birthday cards to family members each year, DW and I still buy each other Valentines Day and anniversary cards as well. 😍

Edit: We buy almost all our greeting cards at Dollar Tree in the 2-for-$1 section. Once in a while we'll have to buy a $1.25 card if we can't find what we want in the bargain section. DW refuses to pay Wal-Mart prices for greeting/holiday cards.

We also buy postcards, but most of them are bought as souvenirs to keep on our postcard rack at home. But occasionally if we're on a vacation, we'll send postcards back home to family members.
