Favorite phone cases?

Seems I smashed my phone to smithereens dropping it on concrete . . . guess I probably have spent more than $6 on a case next time. Any recommendations for durable but not bulky?

PS. Obviously I'd like to know it helped your phone avert disaster. . .

Otterbox is very good. Expensive though. I buy a good, generic silicon case off eBay and they work just as well for a few bucks.

Cheap but good. I go by reviews. I drop my phone from time to time so I look for one that is grippy. Although I drop my phone fairly often it has always survived and I have never needed to replace a screen. Also no screen protector needed. But that's Pixel. The iPhone screens are more fragile they say.

Not a lot can help if you step on phone except OtterBox but they are too bulky for me. But very safe.

I prefer the wallet style case because I often carry my iPhone in a bag or purse. Grippy is important. When traveling (taking lots of photos) I use a tether on my case that slips over my wrist. Very secure.

Poetic has worked well. It’s hard to tell if it’s saved my phone. However, when I first bought it, I had some type of problem. They offered great customer service that I really appreciated.

I have always used the simple junk amazon ones in a design I liked best, which seemed to work for me. I'm not much of a dropper, but I've only cracked two phones in almost 20 years (when I didn't have a case).

I just got the new(to me) google pixel 10a, and I got the google case for it this time in a deal on amazon.

I like a minimalist design. I've dropped my phone a few times with no damage, so the basic cases seem to work. I'm guessing this time, you just had bad luck. If you drop a phone and it lands face down on a small rock, for instance, it's going to break the screen. If I was trying for the best protection, I'm sure I'd be getting an Outterbox or do some research and find one that's even more protective. Unfortunately, the resulting case would be so bulky that I wouldn't like it.

If you like having your phone visible while on a bicycle, consider the Quad Lock cases. I've used it for about 5 months and like it. It even held onto my phone through a bicycle crash.

I like the leather hard shell protector. They have been a life saver for me with dropping and protecting my phone.

I use a Peak Design case Everyday Case for iPhone 15 | Peak Design Official Site . I like the mounting point built into the back, and use it to secure my phone to bike and car mounts. It has never failed me even after a lot of drops (I'm very clumsy...)

I should add sleekness and the ability to get it in a pocket and a slim top tube bike bag add to the reason why I go with a simple silicone case. They are grippy and tend to bounce if dropped. Knock on wood, haven’t broken a screen yet. This is my current case bought off eBay for $8.32 delivered.

My iPhone 15pro is currently being protected by a Spigen Mag Armor MagFit case. I've dropped it a few times (not on concrete) without any damage to the phone. Spigen does have some hard core tough cases as well but I wanted something that would offer a moderate level of protection without turning the phone into a thick heavy brick.

Im usually good with knockoffs and cheaper is better. However, I only buy Otterbox phone covers. Im rough on phones

I have a hard time generalizing Otterbox as a favorite because they have a slim case that doesn't have a lip that protrudes above the screen. A couple of years ago, I purchased an Otterbox case and put it on my phone, then soon realized it had no lip that protrudes over the screen. I ordered another case immediately... and dropped my doggone phone while I was waiting for the new case to arrive. Yes, the screen cracked on a new phone. Now my new favorite case is a case that has a lip that protrudes over the lip of the screen, regardless of brand.

Also necessary: a grippy back. Many new cases are slick rather than being grippy. A slick case is good for getting a phone in and out of your pocket but is not so great if you're subject to dropping the phone. Therefore grippy back and lip around screen are at the top of my priority list, regardless of name brand.

For cases that are slippery, though, I've had some success with ordering pistol grip tape and carefully cutting it out in the shape of the case, then adhering it to the case. With a little patience, I've cut out a grip that appears like it belongs and/or that it came with the case.

I also like to keep a good screen protector on the phone in addition to a case with a raised lip.

I always go with a cheap Amazon one that has the rubber corners and hard back/edges. Drop my phone plenty and never cracked a screen. Expensive cases seem crazy to me. I always have cheap phones though.

I've used Harryshell magnetic wallets for at least ten years probably longer. Not the cheapest but the phone case can detach from the wallet so I can stick it on any magnetic surface around the house. The wallet is a little bulky with all the credit cards and cash I stuff in it but they've held up well over the years and look beautiful. I get tons of compliments and questions over the years about where to get one, they actually attract a little more attention than I would like. I did have a problem with the last one and the company refused to deal with the issue so I moved to a different brand with a non magnetic non removable phone case and it's okay for less than $10 but next purchase will be a magnetic one again. I just like the ability to separate the phone case from the wallet when needed especially to take a photo. The strong magnet holds the phone case securely in the wallet

I'm another generic, knock-off buyer. The profit margins on phone cases is obscene. I get my cases on Ali Express. The last time I bought phone cases was last August and I got a clear case for my Pixel 10 Pro XL and a clear case for DW's Pixel 9a. These are basically Spigen Crystal Flex knockoffs. For both cases, including shipping, it was $13.00. Yes, I had to wait 10 days to get it.

Otterbox is a great choice, I have used in the past. If that is too bulky, then a silicone case and screen protector is what I currently use.

I bought the dbrand Grip case recently. I also bought the Spigen Liquid Air for comparison purposes. The dBrand was way more protective and sturdier than the Spigen and returned it. dBrand also offers nearly 50 different skins to choose from to put on the back of the case to personalize it.
