I'd go for the Who, but something a little more in their prime.

Yeah, but I'm old now, so now what?Baba O'Riley by The Who.
The phrase "Let's get together, before we get much older" represents a call to act on youth and ambition, urging immediate connection and rebellion against a "teenage wasteland".
Improvise?Yeah, but I'm old now, so now what?
It was already mentioned. Youtube links aren't a requirement.Reelin’ In the Years- Steeley Dan.
Just heard it on the radio yesterday and brought a smile to my face immediately!
We don’t have to put the You Tube link here with it do we? Everyone knows that one!
I used The Real Me since the topic was openings, and the opening bass by The Ox/ Thunderfingers is still considered a classic. Amazing that Entwistle (rip) did the whole bass in one take and shows why he is still considered one of the best bass players.I'd go for the Who, but something a little more in their prime.
The one lyric I remember from a Tragically Hip song is “no one is interested in something you didn’t do” from the song Wheat Kings. One of the top three song lyrics I've ever, heard, by the way. "Down through all eternity, the crying of humanity."
Big Yes fan here. Fantastic album. Many consider this album the epitome of Prog Rock. And You and I also a great song.Iconic opening of Close to the Edge by Yes... 3:50, albeit an acquired taste (rest of the song is iconic as well!) Wierd song but has moments of excellence. Rick Wakeman's ~ 1 minute keyboard instrumental beginning about 14:55 is legendary.
Or "Back in Black" or "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" or any of several others. The Young brothers were great at coming up with distinctive opening riffs.Hells Bells by AC/DC.
