Anyone else experiencing delays in getting 2024 1099 tax reporting statement from Fidelity. We just received another email noting March 7th as available date now. Is this unusual or normal for Fidelity?

From the email:
IRS Deadline
We know that it can be inconvenient to receive your tax forms after the February 15 IRS deadline. The IRS extension allows us to send your tax forms later, which may reduce the possibility of tax form corrections or an amended filing.

Not that worried, we usually file late march anyway.

Yes, it’s because of a particular brokered CD I had. JPMorgan which was called in 2024.

All our other account tax forms from Fidelity are ready including the big one with lots of different mutual funds. I’ve had delays before from external positions, but this seems odd as it’s just a CD, albeit called early. They must be waiting for something from JPMorgan.

I’d say it’s unusual from Fidelity unless you hold external securities such as other company mutual funds, in which case it’s not unusual.

We’ll just wait until after March 7 to do our taxes.

fidelity says my 1099 will be ready 2/22. doesn't matter because k1's don"t come till the middle of March.

Yeah, mine are delayed from Fido. I have a small REIT holding, a leftover from a horrible experience years ago with a local Ameriprise office, that hasn't done their reporting to Fidelity yet. Everything else is ready. Someday I'll find a way to liquidate this crappy thing. Right now, the REIT fund is not allowing holders to cash out. Been that way for years.

Refund hit the account Feb. 4.

Mine’s pretty easy. I have taxes taken out per SS check, and when I take my yearly IRA withdrawal. Said no to quarterly returns. Sounds like w*rk… So, the remainder is whatever cap gains, dividends, or interest, which I also have ballpark estimates for, but those are relatively small parts of the whole.

I would note the Turdo Tax price pretty much doubled from last year. :wiseone:

Same reason here waiting on Chase. We usually file ASAP every year. Have heard it's a good idea to file as soon as you can to avoid anybody else trying to file under your name.

It's normal, maybe just not with Fidelity. My Raymond James account has never had tax info ready until at least mid March. Depending on your investments within Fidelity, many take much longer to report which in turn makes you wait that much longer. IRS has rules which allow this.

Same for me. Fidelity consolidated 1099 delayed till March, 7 because of BofA brockered CD. It seems large banks do not send the documents on time. Yes it happened to me last year as well, but I did have the form by the end of Feb. I'm not sure why it is so hard to report the interest on CD which is already in statements anyway.

That sucks.

I don’t worry about that. It’s an inconvenience if it happens, but if you’re not waiting on a refund then it’s not causing financial delays. They’ve buttoned up quite a few things over the years.

So glad I don’t have K1s!
What a nightmare. Any time I've been waiting for K1s, I had to call (and then call again and maybe again) to light a fire under someone. So glad that's all behind me now.

Must be same reason for me. I didn’t dig as I’ll wait another couple of months to file anyway

Same here. Had all Vanguard inputs by end of January, used irs on line forms, received refund this week. Filed state the next day. No TT for me this time.

The last Fidelity 1099's for us were available February 7th.
