Great article from Kaiser about surprise medical bills and out of network charges. Patients taking to court hospitals that send surprise medical bills. "Congress is considering bipartisan legislation to limit balance billing."

There was a thread a while back that I can't locate at the moment, that covered this topic. Consumer reports had/has a petition. Some states already disallow balance billing. Worse IMO is institutions that are in-network allowing out of network people to provide services without your knowledge or consent. Unless this law prevents that, it's not worth much.
