Hi,
Looking for sites that have 55+ community rentals for winter. I don't really know where to look other than AirBnB and VRBO. Even individual communities that might post places for rent in their community. I did find a place for The Villages. What do you use?

The villages was my initial thought. I wish I could find a community like that, if it would take someone under 55. I don't know of any others. it seems like Florida specializes in the retired 55+ community.

There are rentals offered in many neighborhoods in SW FL. Most are in HOA’s that require a 90-day minimum rental period, but there are some that only require 30 days. I think selecting the area you want would be your first step and then working with a local realtor in the area should yield results.

You don't actually have to be 55 to live in The Villages. The rule is that at least 80% of the households in TV need to have at least one member that is >55 years. They are not anywhere close to this number. I know of several families here in The Villages that are both under 55 and had no issues purchasing.

Decide what you want to do and see in Florida.

Beaches? Not the Villages then.

It's a big state, with many different features in many different locations. Find the location/area/activities and then work out from there...Oh, and this is for next year right? You can't expect to find anything good available for the current season.

Surprisingly found a decent number of houses available and available monthly. Always thought you'd have to rent for 3 months to get anything, not so apparently.

If you are interested in The Villages you might try www.rentfromavillager.com

It would help if you knew what area of The Villages you want to be in. There are many different areas. It is over 70 square miles in size.

That's what I ended up using. got a place in El Cortez Village
Assuming this is the village of El Cortez in The Villages, Florida you are in the northern part near the Spanish Springs town square. That is an older, but very nice part of The Villages. If you have any questions about The Villages I would be happy to try to help.

Yes that's it, glad to hear it's in a nice area.
