So, my oldest sister broke her upper arm... I have been taking her to the Dr who is in a building at a hospital...

They offer free valet...

My question would be... how much to tip? Or do you even tip?

I just do not like valet but have to drive to the entrance, get a wheelchair (she hurt her leg also, but not broken) put her in the lobby... go find a parking space which is hard (I am shocked how hard it is to park at a hospital)... park and then walk to her and go see the Dr... then reverse when we leave.. maybe a small BTD thing?

$2-5 is my usual, depending on the place.

My wife sees a doc in a bldg next to a multi-story parking garage so we normally use the valet. Subscribing to the BTD I will tip the valet at least $10, $20 if it's especially hot or cold at the time.

Maybe I'm cheap and need to up it a bit. I have been tipping $2 at the hospital. I know the folks get paid and minimum wages is $14. I'm guessing they get more like $20 + tips.

I have only tipped a couple of bucks in that situation. A couple of times the valet driver was so quick in leaving I didn’t tip anything I was willing to tip but not chase down.

This. Yes, I would tip. It would also depend upon what cash I had in my bag, but I do try to keep some singles and fives. Sometimes I run out of fives as I don't get cash as frequently now that I am retired.

I didn’t even know hospitals had valets. I guess when we have to go to a larger hospital we will find out.
Ours started during Covid IIRC. I actually kind of like it as parking in Miller Structure at Queens was confusing and quite a long walk at times. I lost my car there (briefly) once. Not fun.
