Grok3 - wow!

Been playing with Grok3 a few times a day for about a month.

Truly impressed. Financial, health and general questions answered in a very conversational tone.

The response is immediate, and it keeps track of the subject so that a follow-up question doesn't require restating. It's like this forum but with faster replies and less thread drift! And easy to ask something minor/simple/insignificant without bothering the crew here.

Sure, you can trip it up with extremely difficult, detailed or trick questions, but for day to day I've found it helpful and fascinating.

For better or worse, only the beginning.
Yes. Exhilarating, exciting and frightening, all at the same time.

For fun, I asked how old a fictional character from an old book series would be today. I thought fornsure this would stump it.

It hit it right on the head! Frightening.

It would've had to dig through 13 different novels, figured out the age at the start of the series from inference and do the math.

I've been coming up blank (or a bit of speculation) on Grok here of late. Maybe my requests are too obscure.

It's amazing what thorough and comprehensive answers Grok has to technical questions even when it's wrong about something - and that's the dangerous part! Grok always sounds like it's the authority on a topic, but sometimes it is wrong, or has missed something that would have been a better answer.

I was talking with Grok about the ACA but it completely failed to account for the Inflation Reduction Act's removal of the cliff. I reminded it and it apologized. I guess my point is I really enjoy using it but you have to be careful. If you already know something about a subject and you're looking to pull ideas together or if you're just starting out in learning about something then it's great. However, it makes big errors.

Update: I continue to be both fascinated and frightened. This thing is beyond amazing.

I've queried it a few time every day asking it to decipher my medical reports, predict dividend payments, sports outcomes, clarify some comments and a dozen other things. It's never been stumped! I've even had to resort to asking that an answer be simplified as if I was 12 years old and it did so.

I fear we're at the start of an entirely new world, similar to the advent of electricity, TV or the internet.

Best guess for tomorrow’s Dow: between 42,400 and 43,000. We'll see.
