My first father's day is here, got breakfast in bed and almost as good, got to sleep in (well, until 7 anyway, that's pretty good with a 9 month old). We make the rounds today to see our Dad's and show off the baby girl. Anyone doing something special today? Today feels pretty good, I think I'll get used to having another day about me. ;)

Right JPatrick, don't want to ER'ed from this job! Happy Father's Day to all you dads.

To you new dads remember small kids, small problems. Big kids, big problems. So enjoy your OJT. ;)

Nah, they get bigger and you can threaten them more effectively. I try to scare this little one and he just giggles more.

Definitely a fun and unusual experience becoming a father...

On Father's Day I feel like I should mostly thank my sons, rather than them thanking me. They and my wife made me a father, then they grew up really nicely so that all my memories and thoughts about it are strongly positive.

Can't really say that about any other part of life; so I know it isn't my doing.  :)

Ha

Mikey,
Isn't it wonderful to see them grow into responsible young men?

My boys are each spending 1 day a week taking care of their Dad (Hospice) who is getting to the end stage of his brain cancer. I think that doing this is maturing them more than anything they've been through so far. They're 19 and almost 18 and I see big changes in them occurring.

I thanked my wife for going through all that trouble to make me a father. And thanked my son for the great big fat smile and giggle he gives me every morning when he first sees me.

I'll be spending the day with four to six feet of...

Oh, yeah, that's right, I'll be installing the new car speakers in the Taurus. Or rather I'll be watching my kid do the work!
