SOOO, like others here it is becoming clear that I will need this sooner than I thought... Dr said the scale is 0 to 4 and that anything over 2 you should start to get it done... I hit 2..

I know there are a lot of threads about this but do not want to search for what I saw or read... .so here is my question..

Who has really bad eyesight with astigmatism and gotten surgery?

What did you put into your thoughts of which lens to get?

Are you happy with what you got?

My prescription is 9.25 and 9.50...

I would like to get lens where I do not need glasses but do not know if that is an option yet... just starting my research...

BTW, I do know that someone posted some good videos in a prior thread... I hope you post here also....

I had less astigmatism than you have but mine was complicated by my also having a disorder called kerataconus in both eyes. As a result, the toric lenses (normally recommended for correction of astigmatism) that were implanted reduced but did not eliminate my need for glasses. That said, I see pretty well without glasses but the doctor says not well enough to pass a driver's eye test. So, for driving, I continue to wear glasses after cataract surgery in both eyes. Also wear them for reading, etc.

I had a cataract in one eye (traumatic cataract, not age-related). That eye has always been a booger to me; industrial accident as a teen required surgery to keep eye sight. Later, Bell's Palsy on that side of my face resulted in an inability to close eye completely during sleep or blinking.
Over time, my vision keep diminishing in that eye until I was legally blind. Had cat surgery. I had a toric lens implanted that correct my vision and astigmatism. Vision is now 20/15 in that eye

Thanks for the video... will take a look at it...

I did not put down my astigmatism... I do not know how bad it is... might have to look it up and see..

I would LOVE getting rid of glasses completely... if not completely, then for most things... I could go to 'normal' and just have readers...

Right now I am the opposite... I take my glasses off to read as I am so nearsighted...
