Heading to South Carolina

Heading to South Carolina soon - any hurricane updates for Savannah or Charleston? Also going to Ellijay GA for a retreat. Our trip has been planned and paid for 6 months ago - hoping to get some local news. I live in Oregon and we hear a lot about Asheville, but nothing south of that.

Thanks! Also any tourist suggestions would be welcomed as well!!

I’m have a relative who lives near Blue Ridge GA which is close to Ellijay. I talked to her several days ago and everything was fine. They didn’t get much besides rain.

Tends to be busy for the fall colors? Might be a bit early not sure. In Blue Ridge I think there is a tourist train and we usually visit Merciers Orchards which is a neat big country store with lots of goodies plus apples.

Spartanburg Greenville counties (upper NW corner of the state) got hit pretty hard but mostly back to normal. WNC and Eastern TN are a disaster. I hope your flying in?

We did Asheville, Charleston and Savannah in September and loved it. I would replace Asheville now as the damage was extensive.

I live about 30 mies north of Ellijay. They did not have any damage. There is a nice rooftop restaurant right in the square the is worth checking out.

Ditto. And we added five or six days on Hilton Head. It was all good! We thought hush puppies were shoes....turned out they were something to eat!

Ditto, but we went last year, October. Ran across a fish camp near Charleston and had dinner. Learned many things are edible I have never considered to be food. Ha!
