Hi everyone. I am a soon to be 65 yo retiree I have enjoyed reading postings on this board since 2010, although I rarely posted. The experiences and responses of members on the board provided encouragement for me to achieve my goal of “fire” at 57. Somehow, i lost access to Earlyretirement.org app for the past 3 years, and only recently started getting the newsletter, which has lead to me reconnecting.

I retired from megacorp in Michigan after 39years. Played lots of golf and traveled for the first few years until the first grandchild arrived. My wife and I initially relocated to California to be close to the grandchild, and have since relocated to Virginia after my son transferred to that area.

Looking forward to sharing where I can.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a Kalamazoo Michigan transplant to Florida for about 30 years now. Enjoy the forum, I sure do.

So glad you found your way back home to the FIRE Forum. We welcome you. Looking forward to your inputs.

Welcome to the forum. Look forward to your input and sharing.
This is a great place to be with knowledgeable and friendly folks.

Although it may be good when your child/grandchild moves, there may eventually come a time when the child grows up and no longer wants to spend a lot of time with you. So I am hoping you are developing a social network that does not revolve around your child/grandchild.

DW & I are both retired engineers. I ran our computer consulting company for 34 years, while she ran our environmental services corporation for 31 years. Grandkids are grown, & scattered, from Wisconsin to Tokyo, so we settled here, in Hawaii, as it's in the middle. Welcome back to the forum!

Good first post and continue to enjoy your retirement.

Also a Retired Engineering Manager here.

Worked mostly on the west coast. Managed infrastructure projects and teams early in my career and worked my way up through the ranks from there. Retired at 56.

Still keeping my Civil and Traffic Engineers license valid.
