Helping an elderly parent stay on top of their financial accounts

I found this thread that I remembered; not sure if you prefer new start or add to this. I do see some great tips. It's been a tough couple of weeks with my Mom (85). We are trying to convince her to let my sister and I take over finances/bill paying/mail screening etc. We each live about 40 minutes away from her. Even a random piece of junk mail can throw her for a loop. Sad to watch the decline, but she now wants to think about giving up the control. She has made some questionable decisions that prompted our latest sit down. Bracing myself for what is ahead
